Novak explained that he was torn between accepting a promising job offer from Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), which could help establish his corporate career, or remaining loyal to his newly discovered sister, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), and friend Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn), who had offered him a less defined position.

Meanwhile, Lily Winters faced uncertainty over her control of Chancellor Industries after Billy Abbott uncovered decades-old company records that threatened her ownership of the corporate giant.

At her condo, the current Chancellor Industries owner discussed the situation with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). Though determined to retain control of the company Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) entrusted to her, Lily Winters faced tough questions from her cousin about why she was holding on so tightly when she was focused on leading Winters Inc.

Hastings suggested that his cousin’s determination might have less to do with business and more to do with securing the CEO role for the father of her children. Though clearly bothered by the implication, Lily Winters reminded the former surgeon that Ashby had saved Malcolm Winters’ (Shemar Moore) life, so she felt a sense of loyalty.

Wanting to help, Hastings offered to delay his attempt to return to medicine and assist with Winters Inc. while his cousin battled for Chancellor Industries. Lily Winters appreciated the gesture but encouraged him to continue pursuing the revival of his medical career.

Back at Crimson Lights, as Novak weighed the pros and cons of his options, Dr. Simmons reminded her son that he had always possessed good instincts and a big heart. Confident in his judgment, the Genoa City Memorial Hospital chief of staff assured Novak that he would make the right choice for himself.

Later on, Novak stopped by his sister’s condo and revealed Billy Abbott’s job offer. After listening to his reasons for considering the position, Lily Winters pointed to Billy Abbott’s history of poor decisions and stressed the importance of protecting their family. Encouraged by Lily Winters’ acceptance, Novak made his decision clear. “I have your back, no matter what,” he promised.

Despite his sister’s determination to charge ahead with this fight, Devon Winters remained committed to changing Lily Winters’ mind and convincing her to let Chancellor Industries go.

Meanwhile, at Crimson Lights, the Winters Inc. CEO shared the news with Dr. Simmons about Novak’s recent decision to remain loyal to his newfound family rather than accept Billy Abbott’s job offer. Grateful for his support and commitment, she complimented Dr. Simmons on raising a “good man.”

However, the Abbott patriarch rejected the proposal. While Jack Abbott made it clear that neither he nor his sisters intended on assisting Billy Abbott in his fight for the company, he also refused to support Lily Winters’ efforts to retain ownership.

Jack Abbott explained that the Abbott family had a legitimate claim to Chancellor Industries and believed the matter deserved a fair settlement. Before leaving, the Jabot Cosmetics owner encouraged Lily Winters to consider whether continuing the fight was truly worth the cost and suggested that she think about allowing Billy Abbott to have a rare victory.

Unwilling to surrender, Lily Winters invited her ex-boyfriend to her condo to discuss a possible resolution. During their conversation, she shared the proposal she presented to his eldest sibling.
