Chelsea Hamilton (RhonniRose Mantilla) stopped by Naomi Hamilton-Hawthorne’s (Arielle Prepetit) house to help her choose an outfit for a night out at Uptown. Hamilton-Hawthorne mentioned that her husband, Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges), was currently in training and insisted that the flowers she received from him weren’t an apology bouquet.
As they got ready, the sisters revisited Chelsea Hamilton’s disagreement with her cousin, Kat Richardson (Colby Natasha Nixon). Hamilton-Hawthorne ultimately decided not to invite Chelsea Hamilton to Uptown and instead encouraged her to go make peace with her cousin.
Samantha Richardson-Smith (Najah Jackson) continued working on her essay while her dad, Bradley “Smitty” Smith (Mike Manning), reviewed it. Although he told her the essay was nearly finished, it was clear that he was distracted. A call from Hawthorne pulled him away.
Smith later met up with the undercover cop, who shared troubling information about Grayson Perez (Jordi Vilasuso) and his possible involvement in suspicious activity. Hawthorne revealed that Perez was dating Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob) and explained his plan to gain Perez’s trust.
Elsewhere, Kat Richardson reflected on when she and Chelsea Hamilton had first moved into their apartment before visiting her mother, Dr. Nicole Dupree (Daphnée Duplaix). Nicole Dupree confronted her daughter about her ongoing feud with Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) and Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michelle), warning that her behavior was beginning to resemble Leslie Thomas’ behavior.
The psychiatrist urged her daughter to outsmart Leslie Thomas by ignoring her and focusing on positive things. Nicole Dupree even shared her own experience with family conflict when Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) left years ago for her modeling career. Ultimately, Kat Richardson agreed to reach out to her cousin.
Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett) later visited Lakeview Casino to question Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) about a possible connection between his wife, Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings), and Randy “Sammy” Parker (Maurice P. Kerry). Bill Hamilton admitted that his wife’s behavior had been erratic since her “attack” and questioned why the mugger had been released.
At Orphey Gene’s, Chelsea Hamilton and Kat Richardson finally reconciled. Kat Richardson reassured her cousin that she adores her fiancé, Dr. Madison Montgomery (Kenjah McNeil), but also confirmed that she still plans to move out so she can experience living on her own. Despite the change, the duo reaffirmed their friendship and excitement for Chelsea Hamilton’s upcoming wedding.
The episode concluded with Hawthorne calling Perez and telling him that they needed to meet immediately.

Nurse Shanice Johnson (Ernestine Johnson) teased her boyfriend, Dr. Ted Richardson (Keith Robinson) about his basketball team before she helped him stretch the sore hamstring he suffered during the game.
Meanwhile, Nicole Dupree stopped by Smith and Martin Richardson’s (Brandon Claybon) house with cotillion shoes for Samantha Richardson-Smith and Tyrell Richardson-Smith (Jaden Lucas Miller). Although she said she was there to support her grandchildren, Dr. Dupree confessed that she came because Samantha Richardson-Smith called her, worried about the story Smith was working on. Nicole Dupree pressed Smith for details, but he reassured her that he is going to be fine. He insisted that he couldn’t discuss the assignment due to its seriousness.
Hawthorne confronted Perez about seeing him at Garland Memorial Hospital. The undercover cop spun a cover story, claiming that he was deep in debt. Perez remained skeptical, noting that conversations with Morgan and Hamilton-Hawthorne painted a different picture of the Hawthornes’ marriage. Hawthorne warned Perez to refer to him as “Rashad” and threatened to expose them both if Perez revealed what he saw.
At the country club, Dani Dupree and her husband, Andre Richardson (Sean Freeman), met with Pamela Curtis (Cady McClain). Curtis told the supermodel that she’ll have to work with Olik, the photographer who had a reputation for being ageist and difficult. Encouraged by Curtis and her husband, Dani Dupree recalled a time when she was bold and fearless. She decided that she was ready to prove herself again.
At his hotel, Ted Richardson continued nursing his injury when Johnson stopped by again to check on him and guide him through additional exercises.
Soon after, Nicole Dupree joined her sister and Andre Richardson at the country club, where Dani Dupree jokingly told the renowned psychiatrist that the two men in her life were competing for her honor during the basketball game.
Hawthorne contacted Smith to report that Perez appeared to be on board with their plan. Hawthorne also revealed that Perez had a sick mother, suggesting that it could help ensure Perez kept his cover intact.

At the country club, Leslie Thomas prepared a speech for the opening of the Phoenix Street Free Clinic, hoping it would boost her social standing. She dismissed a waiter who nearly threw away her notes before Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli) arrived, leading to their usual verbal sparring.
Vanessa McBride got a surprise when her daughter Deanna McBride (Angela Fairley) returned home from Banneker University, shocking her mother during her conversation with Leslie Thomas. The free clinic investor introduced herself to Deanna McBride and nearly revealed Armstrong’s involvement in the clinic.
The mother-daughter duo discussed the late Dr. Doug McBride (Jason Graham) and shared their grief. Vanessa McBride reminded her daughter that there will be dedication speeches at the clinic’s opening and encouraged her to not remain trapped in grief.
At the Dupree mansion, Kat Richardson visited her grandparents, Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) and Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie), to ask if she could move in with them. Kat Richardson explained that she wanted Chelsea Hamilton and Dr. Montgomery to have the guest house and confirmed that she and her boyfriend, Tomas Navarro (Alex Alegria), won’t be living together.
The Grands enthusiastically accepted their granddaughter’s offer for her to move in. Their conversation was then interrupted by loud construction coming from Leslie Thomas’ property. Kat Richardson wanted to put a stop to it, but her grandparents urged her to let it go.
At Orphey Gene’s, Lynette Wise (Dominique Madison) spoke with Parker, who revealed that Lawson managed to get the charges against her dropped. Wise said that she plans to stay in town and hinted that she wouldn’t mind getting closer to Bill Hamilton.
As the two flirted and shared food, Mona Wilson (Karan Kendrick) walked in and smacked Parker on the back of the head, scolding the exes for their behavior and declaring that they both needed Jesus. After Wilson left, Parker admitted to Wise that he recently started going to church with Wilson. Wise realized that he was serious about getting his life back on track, and the duo left the restaurant to enjoy some steamy time together.
Bill Hamilton and Lawson returned home early from their vacation after the criminal defense attorney was called back to work. Lawson said that the trip helped clear her mind and she told her husband that she felt ready to start trying for a baby again. Their moment was interrupted when Vernon Dupree arrived, asking Bill Hamilton to find a way to stop Leslie Thomas’ “Shouse” from being built.

Everyone involved with the Phoenix Street Free Clinic gathered at Uptown for a post-opening celebration. Nicole Dupree congratulated her best friend, Vanessa McBride, on the tribute given at the ceremony.
Vanessa McBride later revealed to her children, Donnell McBride (Alex Cheeks) and Deanna McBride, that the tribute was actually Armstrong’s idea. The revelation had clearly bothered Deanna McBride. After the Fairmont Crest realtor introduced Eva Thomas to her twins, Deanna McBride spotted Vanessa McBride sharing a kiss with Armstrong through the window, leaving her visibly shaken.
Eva Thomas and Leslie Thomas sat with Armstrong as he made it clear that their professional partnership was ending. Leslie Thomas quickly shifted her flirtatious attention to Dr. Kial Rollins (Greg Vaughan), calling him “Dr. Feelgood.”
Chelsea Hamilton arrived at the country club with Navarro to meet Kat Richardson, who announced that she had found a new place to live. Chelsea Hamilton supported the move, believing that it would give her and Dr. Montgomery more space, but Navarro pushed back, criticizing his girlfriend for making such a big decision without him. Kat Richardson ended up apologizing to him and promised to involve him in future decisions.
Back at Uptown, the McBride twins spoke with Dr. Dupree and Rollins, with Donnell McBride noting that it was unfortunate that Samantha Richardson-Smith couldn’t attend since the clinic was originally her idea.
The anger brewing in Deanna McBride finally exploded when she publicly confronted her mother about her relationship with Armstrong. In an emotional outburst, Deanna McBride accused Vanessa McBride of being selfish and questioned where she was when Dr. McBride was struggling.
Donnell McBride tried to calm his sister, but she stormed off, declaring that she’ll never return if her mother continues dating Armstrong. Afterwards, Nicole Dupree and Rollins comforted their friend, reminding her that Deanna McBride was simply expressing unresolved grief.
Later, the McBride siblings met at Orphey Gene’s to work things through. Donnell McBride encouraged his sister to consider that maybe their father wouldn’t want their mother to remain unhappy forever. The sibling duo acknowledged that they will always honor their father’s memory.

Kat Richardson ran into Donnell McBride while grabbing coffee and thanked him for agreeing to escort her niece, Samantha Richardson-Smith, to the cotillion. She also complimented Vanessa McBride’s tribute at the Phoenix Street Free Clinic opening.
Their conversation turned to the tension within the McBride family, with the ChelseaKat manager suggesting that the siblings may be misreading the situation with their mother and Armstrong. She shared her own experience with Nicole Dupree moving on after the Richardsons’ divorce. She also mentioned Armstrong’s escort service, Heart Attach, which immediately raised concerns for Donnell McBride.
At Orphey Gene’s, Hamilton-Hawthorne spoke with Derek Baldwin (Ben Gavin) about the success of the Phoenix Street Free Clinic. Hamilton-Hawthorne suggested that the clinic’s momentum could attract new investors and potentially eliminate the need for Leslie Thomas’ funding.
Elsewhere, Hawthorne encountered Perez in the hospital elevator during another plasma drop and warned him not to waste Morgan’s time. The cop noted that Morgan’s previous relationship with Baldwin ended over secrets and suggested that Perez and the nurse may not last either.
At the Dupree mansion, Vernon Dupree cautioned Martin Richardson that Armstrong will always protect his own interests and he urged his grandson to focus on the people he hopes to serve. The congressman said that he plans to discuss things further with his husband. Kat Richardson soon arrived with sweet treats for her grandparents. Martin and Kat Richardson shared a light moment before their grandfather headed to bed.
Later, Donnell McBride visited his mother at Lakeview Casino. Vanessa McBride asked about her daughter, and Donnell McBride said his sister would be back on campus. The Banneker student explained how deeply his twin was struggling with the situation. He soon warned both his mother and Armstrong that Deanna McBride’s anger could be more serious than they realize.
