Y&R Recap: Nate Makes a Romantic Move, Devon Seeks Answers About Lily and More

Throughout the previous week, there were clues that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and her children were in danger, and her family is starting to realize it themselves. Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) discussed his attempts to contact his cousin (Winters) with his other cousin, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James).
After the kidnapping of his son, Hamilton was on edge, and his cousin could sense that, but Hastings wanted to consider all angles and carefully think things through before doing anything erratic.
The conversation ended, and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), Hastings’ former partner, arrived to meet with him. Hastings inquired about her plan to reclaim her family business. Worried that Newman was taking too much on herself, Hastings asked a bold question, saying, “If things don’t go to plan, what are some other options for you?”
Hastings asked her not to take the burden on herself, and Newman responded by saying that she needs to. The two talked more, and Newman confessed that her feelings may stem from the fact that she isn’t as involved as she used to be.
Understanding her feelings, Hastings reflected on the loss of his medical career and how bitter he became about losing control over his life. He said that he was lost, and he’s concerned that Newman will suffer the same fate if she lets this loss take over her life.
Newman declared her desire to reclaim her family’s company. The duo left together, seeking comfort in each other’s presence, and Hastings kissed his former lover.

Contrary to Hastings’ advice, Hamilton decided not to wait for any news regarding his sister (Winters) and went directly to the train car where Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) resides.
Ashby didn’t give Hamilton a straight answer; he claimed not to know where Winters and her children were but believed everything was fine. Hamilton didn’t buy it, accused Ashby of withholding information, and Ashby admitted that he was.
Hamilton grew upset, pressing for more information and insisting on his right to know where his sister and her children are. He refused to leave, and they argued more.
Ashby insisted that he’d never let anything happen to his family and will handle things. Hamilton reminded Ashby that his handling of a situation before led to the deaths of Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) and Chance Chancellor IV (Conner Floyd).
In anger, Ashby accidentally confirmed that Winters and the kids were kidnapped, deeply upsetting Hamilton. Ashby warned that revealing more would endanger the family.
Hamilton declared that those near Ashby get hurt and that he refuses to let his family become casualties of Ashby’s business. He vowed to protect them himself, warning Ashby: “I swear to god, if anything happens to them in the meantime and you’re responsible in any way, I will rain hell down on you.”

Hamilton and his wife, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), were deeply affected when their son Dominic experienced a nightmare after being kidnapped. They did their best to reassure their son that they will always be there for him.
After tucking their son back into bed, Hamilton reassured his wife that they would get through everything together. They then agreed to seek a child psychologist to help their son cope with the trauma of being kidnapped.
Hastings stopped by to check on the family, and he and his cousin discussed Winters’ disappearance. Hastings told Hamilton that he’s suspicious that something is wrong, and Hamilton then admitted he went to see Ashby, who confirmed their worst fears: Winters and her children are in danger.
The cousin duo connected the dots and reached the same conclusion: Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) was pulling the strings. Hastings, perplexed, questioned how Victor Newman, after his decades-long friendship with Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John), could put his family at risk.
Hamilton admitted that he isn’t surprised and says that when provoked, who knows how far Victor Newman will go? Hamilton questioned if any of the other Newmans knew about Winters’ kidnapping and if Hastings had heard anything.
Hastings didn’t believe that Victoria Newman would keep the kidnapping from him, but Hamilton wouldn’t put it past her as her father’s confidante.
The two arrived at Newman Ranch. Hastings was polite, but Hamilton quickly demanded, “We need you to come clean about Lily (Winters) and her kids, alright? Where the hell are they?”
“The Young and the Restless” airs on CBS at 12:30 p.m. EST Monday through Friday.
