Naomi Hamilton-Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit) arrived home and looked at her wedding photo before rereading a text from Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges) saying he couldn’t see her. A saddened Hamilton-Hawthorne confided in her best friend, Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob), who agreed to come over later with food.

Jacob Hawthorne found himself in a compromising situation when he ended up on an elevator with Grayson Perez (Jordi Vilasuso) and Morgan. Perez quickly kissed Morgan to keep the cop’s cover from being blown.

The close call left Jacob Hawthorne wanting to change the plan’s logistics, prompting him to ask Perez to contact whoever he was connected to at Garland Memorial Hospital.

The Richardson-Smith family spent quality time together, with Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon) stressing the importance of a phone-free environment so they could enjoy a distraction-free game night. Samantha Richardson-Smith (Najah Jackson) opened up about Francesca Belleclaire (Madison Alsobrook) trolling her over her poor performance in the “First Impressions” workshop.

Tyrell Richardson-Smith (Jaden Lucas Miller) admitted he lacked dancing skills and revealed that his girlfriend still wasn’t fully on board with cotillion.

Even without his phone, Bradley “Smitty” Smith (Mike Manning) remained distracted, repeatedly reaching for it out of habit, until he finally received a call from Jacob Hawthorne, who revealed that the hospital contact was actually a woman.

Meanwhile, at the Hamilton law building, Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings) spun a web of lies to her husband, Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett), by accusing Tomas Navarro (Alex Alegria) of sexually harassing Lynette Wise (Dominique Madison) and pushing Bill Hamilton to take action to fix it.

Navarro had been chatting with Kat Richardson (Colby Natasha Nixon) on the phone when Bill Hamilton summoned him to his office and questioned him about his behavior toward Wise.

At the office, Navarro pleaded his case while Lawson and Bill Hamilton confronted him over the accusations. The newly named junior partner promised to do better, but Bill Hamilton warned that he would be fired if he didn’t fix the situation.

Lawson continued trying to get into her husband’s head by reminding him that Navarro was playing his niece and had disrespected his wife. Bill Hamilton, however, reminded Lawson of the time she tried to use Navarro to make him jealous and made it clear he was not going to fire him.

Kat Richardson later called Samantha Richardson-Smith to assure her that she would be there to support her during cotillion prep, but quickly ended the call after spotting Wise entering Uptown. She tried to introduce herself, unaware that the scheming vixen already knew exactly who she was.

The ChelseaKat business manager tried to make small talk to get insight into both Wise and Lawson. Wise, however, slipped in commentary about Navarro allegedly harassing her.

Their tense exchange continued until Navarro arrived and asked his girlfriend to go somewhere else with him, though Wise ultimately dismissed herself. Kat Richardson and Navarro later continued their discussion at Uptown’s bar, where Navarro urged her to let the matter go since his career was on the line.

While Chelsea Hamilton (RhonniRose Mantilla) was out grabbing coffee for herself and her “bestie-cousin,” she ran into Navarro and sat down to catch up. During their conversation, Chelsea Hamilton invited him on a double date with her and Dr. Madison Montgomery (Kenjah McNeil).

Meanwhile, Bill Hamilton stopped by Chelsea Hamilton’s home after the purse designer asked for his help securing a band for her wedding, but she wasn’t there. Instead, he found Kat Richardson, and the two had a tense talk about the allegations Lawson made against Navarro.

Kat Richardson warned that karma would catch up to Bill Hamilton for how he treated her aunt, Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley), and insisted Lawson was playing him, while Bill Hamilton tried to shift the blame onto Navarro.

Chelsea Hamilton returned in time to catch her father, who assured her the band situation was handled. She and Kat Richardson later discussed the ChelseaKat business manager’s tense conversation with Bill Hamilton, though Chelsea Hamilton remained concerned that Navarro was showing red flags.

Suspicious charges on Wise’s account led Bill Hamilton to take a closer look at the situation, prompting him to seek help from Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom).

Andre Richardson (Sean Freeman) surprised his wife, Dani Dupree, by returning home early and treating her to a massage. The couple bonded over love, heartbreak and commitment, with Andre Richardson reassuring his wife that he would stand by her through Anita Dupree’s (Tamara Tunie) cancer battle.

Shanice Johnson (Ernestine Johnson) stopped by Dr. Ted Richardson’s (Keith Robinson) hotel room with a surprise, and the two shared a meal while discussing her past experiences with infidelity. Johnson struggled to process Dr. Richardson betraying Nicole Dupree (Daphnée Duplaix) and confided about her insecurities. A later comment from Dr. Richardson caught her off guard and left her wondering whether he had just admitted he loved her.

At Orphey Gene’s, Lawson grew frustrated over the charges Wise had racked up on her dime. Chelsea Hamilton approached her with kind words and offered support, which Lawson pretended to appreciate before rolling her eyes once Chelsea Hamilton left.

Lawson later ran into Navarro, who was exploring other job options. As Navarro tried to understand where things went wrong between them, Lawson kept up her act until he finally called her a “devil in disguise.”

Deanna McBride (Angela Fairley) planned a day out with her twin, Donnell McBride (Alex Cheeks), but was blindsided when their mother, Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli), showed up.

Still upset, Deanna McBride confronted her, prompting the Fairmont Crest realtor to share her version of the truth about her marriage and claim that Armstrong made her feel alive again. This led Deanna McBride to question how long he had been filling that void.

The conversation between Ted Richardson and the head nurse continued as he clarified that he wasn’t saying he loved her, but rather that she was important to him. His response only heightened Johnson’s tension, prompting her to remind him that she knew exactly what they were and what she was to him, a possible rebound. Dr. Richardson eased the head nurse’s worries and reassured her.

At Orphey Genes, the McBride family continued discussing the timeline of Armstrong and Vanessa McBride’s relationship. The real estate agent continued to gaslight her children, but Deanna McBride saw right through her lack of transparency. She remained unconvinced and left upset.

After kickboxing class, Kat Richardson ran into her cousin, Hamilton-Hawthorne, at the country club and opened up about her concerns over Lawson’s recent actions against Navarro. The cousin duo also discussed how Wise seemed off, with Kat Richardson remarking that Lawson and Wise were becoming two peas in a “shady” pod.

Dr. Carlton Fitzgerald (Robert Christopher Riley) stopped by Nicole Dupree’s office to confirm that they were still on for the evening. Although neither of them seemed enthusiastic, the double date with Armstrong and Vanessa McBride remained on.

Armstrong was approached by Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michelle) at the casino, who wanted to thank him for looking out for Izaiah Hawthorne (Lami Friebe) when he was younger and for not allowing his behavior to spiral out of control.

Later at the country club, Donnell McBride sat down with Kat Richardson, whom he had texted because he needed someone to talk to. They discussed the disastrous conversation that happened between him, his twin sister and his mom.

He admitted that while he wanted to believe his mother’s recounting of their family history, he wasn’t sure he could.

Hamilton-Hawthorne later confronted Lawson about her allegations against Navarro and made it clear that the accusations didn’t align with his reputation. The lawyer also warned her former best friend not to push the issue too far, reminding her that there was a time when Lawson had not been honest with Bill Hamilton about her fake ultrasound sonogram.

Nicole Dupree and Fitzgerald had joined Armstrong and Vanessa McBride for their double date at Uptown, but the evening got off to a rocky start as the conversation failed to land well with either side.

Armstrong initiated the tense exchange, insulting both Dr. Fitzgerald’s occupation and Nicole Dupree’s family, but the plastic surgeon and renowned psychiatrist threw shade right back about Armstrong’s known criminal history.

Neither side was willing to find common ground, and Dr. Dupree made it clear to her best friend that while she loved her, she had no interest in continuing the evening.

Nicole Dupree and Fitzgerald left the table and later returned to her home to unpack the chaotic night. Still upset, the psychiatrist called out her friend’s naivety regarding her involvement with Armstrong.

Fitzgerald urged her not to force Vanessa McBride into recognition before she was ready and questioned whether Nicole Dupree was projecting. Offended by his assessment, Nicole Dupree asked him to leave.

Kat Richardson later ran into her boyfriend at the country club and immediately called him out for lying about going to Baltimore. He admitted that he had been interviewing for another job.

The ChelseaKat manager told him about confronting her “former” uncle, but Navarro argued that she had only made things worse, explaining that her defense made him appear weak. He revealed that he had been offered a full partnership at another firm, though the move would leave him financially strained at first.

Kat Richardson ultimately suggested that leaving the Hamilton law firm might be the best move, especially if it allowed them to focus on figuring out what Lawson and Wise were up to.

Later, Dani Dupree stopped by her ex-husband’s office after he left her a voicemail. After the supermodel shared some light banter about Lawson, Bill Hamilton made it clear he was protective of his wife.

The criminal defense attorney let his ex-wife know that he wanted to protect all the women in his life. He revealed plans to revise his will, including adjustments for his daughters and the addition of Dani Dupree.

At Uptown, Lawson helped herself to the drinks left behind by the failed double date before meeting with her cousin Randy Parker (Maurice P. Kerry). She revealed that Bill Hamilton had asked Armstrong to dig up information on Wise and warned that Hamilton-Hawthorne was starting to catch on.

Lawson then suggested it was time to finish the original plan and kill Bill Hamilton, but Parker pushed back, noting she would be the prime suspect.

The schemer also crossed paths with Wise and tried to gauge whether she was leaving town, but Wise made it clear she saw an opportunity in staying. Wise told Lawson to cut her in on whatever scam she was running, or she’d have Lawson’s plans exposed.

Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) was surprised to find his wife dressed in her Sunday best. Determined to make the most of the energy she had that day, Anita Dupree urged her husband to get dressed as well, insisting that she had never missed an Easter dinner and didn’t plan to going forward.

The town gathered at the country club for its Easter celebration. Hamilton-Hawthorne and Chelsea Hamilton arrived together, and Chelsea Hamilton immediately noticed Lawson mean-mugging her sister.

The Hamilton sisters later joined Andre Richardson and Dani Dupree at their table. Hamilton-Hawthorne was noticeably distracted, reading her text thread with Jacob Hawthorne, while Chelsea Hamilton anxiously awaited news from Fenmore’s Boutique (Y&R).

Nicole Dupree arrived with Dr. Kial Rollins (Greg Vaughan), and the two briefly discussed the disastrous double date before joining Dani Dupree, her daughters and Andre Richardson.

Dr. Dupree later pulled away with her sister for a conversation at the country club bar that was interrupted by Anastasia Belleclaire (Timeca M. Seretti), who made a snide remark about Samantha Richardson-Smith not really being a Dupree.

Anita Dupree overheard the comment and quickly shut it down. Nicole Dupree then introduced Dr. Rollins to her mother, and the family was pleased to see the Dupree matriarch out and about.

Dr. Fitzgerald had initially planned to stop by the country club for a bite to eat, but changed his mind after spotting Nicole Dupree with Dr. Rollins. He later ran into his best friend, who immediately sensed something was off.

Ted Richardson and Fitzgerald left for drinks. At Uptown, Fitzgerald admitted that he wanted more from Nicole Dupree, while Ted Richardson acknowledged that he was glad she was becoming the woman she had always wanted to be.

While Lawson sat alone, her husband made his way over to the Dupree-Richardson table to wish everyone a happy holiday. Upon returning to the table with his wife, the criminal defense attorney made it clear he knew Wise had been running up charges on Lawson’s card.

Vernon Dupree later pulled Bill Hamilton aside to thank him for his help with the trust, though Dani Dupree also quickly swooped in to steal him away for a moment of her own.

The undercover cop texted Perez and asked him to meet in the stairwell. Although Perez agreed, he was clearly uneasy about the idea. Unbeknownst to them, Dr. Lia Whitmore (Cecilia Specht) was nearby and watching the plasma drop between the two.

Hamilton-Hawthorne received a text from Jacob Hawthorne asking to meet, and the married couple connected at their usual spot. The lawyer revealed that her husband’s brother had put her in a compromising position by telling their mother about the burner phone.

The undercover officer comforted his wife and reminded her that they wouldn’t be able to see each other on their anniversary. They decided to make the most of the time they had together.

The Easter gathering ended on a high note when surprise guest Jennifer Holliday, an old friend of the Dupree matriarch and patriarch, arrived at the country club. Anita Dupree delivered a warm speech to her family before Holliday closed out the celebration with a special performance.
