Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) reunited with her husband, Andre Richardson (Sean Freeman), who had been working on a project at his condo, and said she wanted to address his confrontation with Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett) after he called her “baby.” Andre Richardson explained his side, prompting Dani Dupree to praise their strong marriage. 

Chelsea Hamilton (RhonniRose Mantilla) met with Naomi Hamilton-Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit) to review the Fenmore’s Boutique contract, but Hamilton-Hawthorne was distracted and missing Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges). After Dani Dupree called her younger daughter over for a chat, Hamilton-Hawthorne declined to join them.

Once Chelsea Hamilton arrived, the supermodel pitched walking in Tatum Stewart’s fashion show with a ChelseaKat bag, but the designer insisted on keeping their brands separate. Disappointed, Dani Dupree was comforted by her husband.

At his hotel, Jacob Hawthorne met with Bradley “Smitty” Smith (Mike Manning) and urged him to drop his story, showing the injuries that he received as a consequence for switching the drop. Smith refused, saying that the story would advance his career.

The undercover cop then revealed that Ren Tolliver (Donny Carrington) had tested him and assigned another drop. Smith shared that his husband, Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon), hired security for his family, raising concerns about being followed.

Jacob Hawthorne agreed that some protection was better than none. After mentioning a female lab employee tied to the case, Smith watched as the cop got a text from Tolliver. Jacob Hawthorne later met Grayson Perez (Jordi Vilasuso) in the elevator for the plasma drop.

Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michelle) met with Derek Baldwin (Ben Gavin) at Orphey Genes, where he thanked her for keeping Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) away from him at the clinic. Eva Thomas assured him that her mother had been distracted by Marcel Malone (Darryl W. Handy).

Their conversation turned tense when Baldwin called Leslie Thomas a criminal, and Eva Thomas defended her. When Perez called to volunteer at the clinic, Baldwin declined, telling Eva Thomas that he did not trust the lab worker.

Hamilton-Hawthorne later visited Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob) at the hospital to discuss concerns about her husband’s injuries. The bestie duo then ran into Baldwin and Eva Thomas at Orphey Genes, where they discussed Perez’s sudden interest in volunteering.

Meanwhile, Leslie Thomas was at Uptown preparing to meet her lover when he texted that he was running late and changed their plans.

Leslie Thomas later faced Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli) at Joey Armstrong’s (Jon Lindstrom) casino, where McBride suggested they could bond over dating unpopular men. The clinic investor admitted that it felt nice that someone genuinely wanted to spend time with her on a romantic level.

Martin Richardson visited his grandfather, Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis), to discuss politics, but confided in him about concern that his legacy could be damaged if his past came to light. Vernon Dupree urged him to ease his conscience over taking a life, resume therapy and open up to his husband.

Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings) ran into Tomas Navarro (Alex Alegria) at the coffee shop while rushing coffee back to her husband after spiking it with poison. Lawson apologized to Navarro, confessing that Lynette Wise (Dominique Madison) had gotten into her head.

Navarro attempted to replace the coffee order, but Lawson declined. Meanwhile, Bill Hamilton informed Caroline Lee (Ellie Wang) that Navarro would be on a special assignment going forward.

When Lawson returned, the renowned criminal defense attorney questioned her delay, suspecting it was related to Wise. Lawson explained that she had run into Navarro and Wise had left town.

The paralegal intentionally shifted the conversation to her husband calling his ex-wife “baby,” but he downplayed it, upsetting her and prompting her to storm out. At Uptown, Lawson later received a call from Randy Parker (Maurice P. Kerry), who confirmed Wise had been handled.

Dani Dupree met McBride at Uptown, where the Fairmont Crest realtor shared that she had reconciled with Dr. Nicole Dupree (Daphnée Duplaix) and remained confident that Armstrong would never hurt her. She expressed a desire to avoid tension with both Dupree sisters.

The two joked about Dr. Dupree and Armstrong becoming friends, and McBride noted lingering chemistry between Dani Dupree and Bill Hamilton. The supermodel acknowledged her ex-husband’s recent behavior but maintained that she only wanted a man who loved her in return.

Nicole Dupree later met Armstrong to clear the air about McBride. The casino owner admitted that he risked being hurt, given his reluctance to show vulnerability. While both acknowledged past missteps, the psychiatrist said they would not find common ground if he continued interfering with her son.

Later, Kat Richardson and Dr. Dupree ran into Dr. Ted Richardson (Keith Robinson) at the coffee shop, who invited them to join him. Dr. Dupree declined since she was meeting their son.

The ChelseaKat business manager shared that she appreciated her parents’ civility at her birthday party, while Dr. Richardson was glad that she included her half-sister in the celebration. He later questioned whether Kat Richardson truly wanted to live alone.

Bill Hamilton returned home with flowers for Lawson, who continued pressing him about what he had said to his ex-wife. The criminal defense attorney insisted it meant nothing. Though Lawson accepted the flowers, she made it clear she wanted more from her husband.

At the hospital, Shanice Johnson (Ernestine Johnson) returned from a work trip and caught up with Morgan, who shared updates about Dr. Madison Montgomery’s (Kenjah McNeil) lawsuit and the privacy breach in Nicole Dupree’s office.

Nicole Dupree met with her son, who shared that he was considering running for the Senate. The psychiatrist strongly opposed the idea, citing his past and her concerns about his recent conversation with Bill Hamilton.

The congressman expressed greater concern about Armstrong but assured his mother that he would not make any moves without informing her. When Dr. Dupree asked whether Smith knew about his aspirations, Martin Richardson admitted that he had not told him, prompting his mother to remind him of his commitment to honesty with his husband.

Bill Hamilton later received an update on his financial review that raised red flags. When Lawson entered their living room feeling romantic, Bill Hamilton confronted her about closing a savings account and withdrawing the exact amount Wise would have needed for her penthouse.

Lawson claimed that she had planned to move the money into their main account, but Bill Hamilton noted she had not done so.

The shocker of the day happened at Garland Memorial Hospital, where Perez talked on the phone with his mother. Tolliver then walked right up to him and stabbed him, leaving him bleeding out right in the hospital stairwell.

The Dupree patriarch received a call from Dr. Montgomery with good news about his health. Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) overheard and asked him to share, believing it was about the lawsuit.

Vernon Dupree instead revealed that the call was about his health, explaining that he did not want to burden his wife, who was focused on her own recovery. Anita Dupree, energized as she neared the end of her cancer journey, reminded him that they were in everything together.

The retired senator shared that his diagnosis was a vitamin D deficiency, though Dr. Montgomery planned additional tests to rule out other issues.

Martin Richardson met Smith at the country club, where they discussed the congressman’s recent conversation with his mother. What began lightly turned serious when Martin Richardson revealed he was considering a Senate run and that Bill Hamilton was already aware.

The news frustrated Smith, who pointed out their ongoing trust issues and the risks tied to Martin Richardson’s secrets. As tensions rose, Smith argued that moving forward would put his career at risk.

After Smith departed to help with Jacob Hawthorne’s request, Armstrong approached Martin Richardson and offered private security for him and his family, but the congressman declined, unwilling to owe him anything further.

Elsewhere, after stabbing Perez, Tolliver met with the undercover cop and made it clear that Perez had to pay for his mistake. Jacob Hawthorne then saw all the missed calls from Perez on his phone.

Tolliver warned the cop that his patience had run out. Then he took a call from Dr. Lia Whitmore (Cecelia Specht), during which he revealed what he had done to Perez. Whitmore was displeased.

Smith met with Jacob Hawthorne at the hotel to share an update on Perez. The investigative reporter saw no sign of Perez at the hospital or his home. As they considered where he could be, Jacob Hawthorne suggested Morgan’s home, though Smith was not convinced.

Dr. Carlton Fitzgerald (Robert Christopher Riley) stopped by Nicole Dupree’s office to apologize following their fallout after the double date. Dr. Dupree said he had been judgmental about who she was becoming, but he declared that he respected her and missed their friendship.

The plastic surgeon invited her to dinner, and though she recognized the timing as a distraction from her upcoming wedding anniversary, she accepted. As their conversation ended, Dr. Kial Rollins (Greg Vaughan) arrived early from his trip.

After a brief exchange with Dr. Fitzgerald, Dr. Dupree and Dr. Rollins reunited, and he shared details about time with his sons while she expressed appreciation for how he was handling their relationship.

Bill Hamilton and Lawson later went to Uptown for a date night, where Lawson showed off her newly replaced wedding ring. They ran into Chelsea Hamilton sitting alone at the bar and invited her to join them.

Lawson made small talk about ChelseaKat before the conversation turned to Dr. Montgomery. Sensing that Chelsea Hamilton wanted privacy, Lawson went to the bar while the designer voiced concerns to her father about her fiancée’s lawsuit and Lawson’s schemes against Navarro.

Chelsea Hamilton made it clear that she did not trust the paralegal’s intentions. Lawson later listened closely as her husband’s daughter shared her thoughts, while Bill Hamilton maintained that he had no regrets about his marriage.
