Dr. Nicole Dupree (Daphnée Duplaix) sat down with her best friend, Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli), and discussed the Fairmont Crest realtor’s children and their complicated relationship with Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom). Dr. Dupree questioned whether her bestie’s desire for her children to accept Armstrong had more to do with wanting him to take on a fatherly role in their lives.

Their conversation shifted to the renowned psychiatrist’s love life before Dr. Kial Rollins (Greg Vaughan) sent a text asking to see her since he was in the neighborhood. Dr. Rollins stopped by to catch up.

The duo chatted about his children, and Dr. Dupree wondered whether he thought about his ex-wife during their intimate moments. She confessed that she had recently thought about her ex-husband, Dr. Ted Richardson (Keith Robinson), while she was with Dr. Carlton Fitzgerald (Robert Christopher Riley).

After declaring that Dr. Dupree’s admission didn’t bother him, Dr. Rollins stayed at her place to share a strictly platonic night together, being productive and getting some of their work done.

Donnell McBride (Alex Cheeks) continued to grill Armstrong about his possible involvement in his father’s death. The Lakeview Casino owner reminded the Banneker student that he had already seen the video footage.

Armstrong denied having anything to do with Dr. Doug McBride’s (Jason Graham) death, but he did admit that there was an attraction to Vanessa McBride while Dr. McBride was still alive.

Meanwhile, Deanna McBride (Angela Fairley) “saw” her father and embraced him tightly. However, it turned out that she was hallucinating the entire time, as he told her that her mother and Armstrong were gaslighting her.

The McBride twins later met for a bite to eat at the country club, where Donnell McBride told his sister that he was dropping his beef with Armstrong. Deanna McBride remained unwilling to accept the casino owner, but her brother was tired of discussing the subject and left to return to Banneker University.

Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) and Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michelle) discussed the aftermath of Lia Whitmore’s (Cecelia Specht) actions and how they affected the free clinic. While the clinic investor complained about having to do damage control, her daughter reminded her not to be insensitive about Derek Baldwin’s (Ben Gavin) death.

Leslie Thomas saw Baldwin’s death as an opportunity to recruit her daughter as his replacement. After some slight begging, Eva Thomas agreed to temporarily help her mother.

Randy Parker (Maurice P. Kerry) spoke with his cousin, Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings), about the shootout. Lawson showed concern about Parker possibly being arrested, but he realized that her worries were self-serving.

The paralegal acknowledged that she still needed Parker to supply the poison she had been giving Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett). She complained that the poison was taking too long to work.

Parker remained at Uptown after his cousin left, then Leslie Thomas joined him and inquired about Armstrong and her inability to reach him. Parker informed the free clinic investor that Armstrong would not appreciate their conversation being held behind his back.

Later on at the law office, Tomas Navarro (Alex Alegria) brought additional information regarding Lynette Wise’s (Dominique Madison) disappearance to Bill Hamilton. Navarro stated that Wise had a pattern of meeting with a local barista and had invited him to a housewarming before disappearing.

When Navarro revealed that Kat Richardson (Colby Natasha Nixon) was his source, his boss became irritated as he had previously asked Navarro not to involve the ChelseaKat business manager. After the junior partner agreed and left the office, Lawson arrived and served her husband another spiked drink. Navarro later spoke with his girlfriend and told her to keep him out of any snooping she planned to do.

Tyrell Richardson-Smith (Jaden Lucas Miller) nervously joined his parents, Bradley “Smitty” Smith (Mike Manning) and Congressman Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon), at the breakfast table, expecting them to be upset about him sneaking out of the cotillion. The congressman stated that his son’s awareness of how disappointed they were in him was punishment enough.

Samantha Richardson-Smith (Najah Jackson) then came downstairs dressed for the Platinum Debutante photoshoot, but her father insisted that she sit down for breakfast first. The 2026 Barrington County debutante shared that Leslie Thomas had sent out a memo instructing everyone not to discuss Baldwin’s death or the free clinic without her present.

When his daughter asked him not to include details about the clinic in his story, Smith said he couldn’t leave it out completely but would make sure it was represented fairly. The reporter also apologized to his family for not being around as much while working on the story. Martin Richardson told his husband that he was proud of him but also upset that he had put himself in danger.

Later on, Tyrell Richardson-Smith spoke with Martin Richardson about sex. He shared details about his first time with Jessica Harris (Camryn Jade) and admitted that it didn’t go as he expected.

The congressman opened up about his own first experience, revealing it was with a woman, which surprised his son. He explained that his younger self had struggled to find his authentic identity.

At the country club, Dr. Richardson met with Shanice Johnson (Ernestine Johnson), who confessed that Baldwin’s death had been difficult for her and had caused her to put certain things into perspective. After speaking with her aunt and receiving advice, Johnson decided that she would not allow someone’s past to dictate how she moved forward with them. Leslie Thomas interrupted their time together, but Dr. Richardson quickly shut her down, telling her not to interfere with his time with Johnson anymore.

Meanwhile, Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges) spoke with Grayson Perez (Jordi Vilasuso) about his immunity deal. Perez shared that Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob) did not want to be in the same room as him, and the detective agreed it would be best to give her space. Police Chief Elon Hawthorne (Malachi Malik) later joined them, and Perez thanked him for his graciousness regarding the immunity agreement.

Naomi Hamilton-Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit) later joined her husband at the press conference at Garland Memorial Hospital after she spent time with Morgan, grieving Baldwin’s death. During the conference, Chief Hawthorne acknowledged his team’s work and provided an update on Lia Whitmore’s arrest.

When reporters asked about the civilian casualty, Leslie Thomas stepped in and delivered an exaggerated emotional speech about Baldwin before dramatically and conveniently falling into Dr. Richardson’s arms. Afterward, the renowned plastic surgeon confronted his ex about the display, but she insisted that she was simply doing damage control.

Hamilton-Hawthorne praised her husband for his work, but he dismissed the compliment, maintaining that Baldwin was the real hero. The cop told his wife that he would meet her at home.

Garland Memorial’s head nurse later stopped by to check on Morgan and filled her in on the outcome of the press conference. The two discussed holding a memorial of their own at Uptown in Baldwin’s honor.

At the police department, Jacob Hawthorne met with Baldwin’s father, who refused to shake hands because he blamed the former undercover cop for his son’s death. The grieving dad asked Jacob Hawthorne to help expedite the release of Baldwin’s remains.

The Fairmont Crest community gathered at Uptown to celebrate the life of former firefighter Derek Baldwin. Vanessa McBride greeted Johnson, who acknowledged that the realtor understood the pain of losing someone.

Vanessa McBride later approached Jacob Hawthorne and Izaiah Hawthorne (Lami Friebe) to offer her condolences. She also inquired about the direction of the investigation, but Jacob Hawthorne questioned whether she was asking on Armstrong’s behalf.

Dr. Richardson later visited his ex-wife at her office and acknowledged that they had been getting along well lately. The conversation shifted to the challenges facing Garland Memorial and the need to find a chief of staff replacement sooner rather than later.

The plastic surgeon informed Dr. Dupree that he had recommended her for the position, but she was not interested. Dr. Rollins arrived shortly thereafter, bringing the conversation to a close. While Dr. Rollins agreed that the psychiatrist would make an excellent chief of staff, he also understood that she was focused on the path that felt right for her.

Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) ran into Bill Hamilton at the country club, where he asked whether she had spoken with their eldest daughter about Jacob Hawthorne. Their conversation shifted to the infamous former colleague of Bill Hamilton’s who had behaved inappropriately toward female employees.

The supermodel criticized her ex-husband for failing to protect those women and to protect her, who had also fallen victim to Mike Davis’ (Pierce Lackey) gross behavior. She remarked that she had felt more protected by Pamela Curtis (Cady McClain).

Meanwhile, Andre Richardson arrived at the memorial and was approached by his cousin, Eva Thomas, who asked about his relationship with Baldwin. The photographer later hugged Morgan, who was grateful he attended.

At Orphey Gene’s, Chelsea Hamilton (RhonniRose Mantilla) worried that her fiancé, Dr. Madison Montgomery (Kenjah McNeil), would have little family support at their wedding because of the lawsuit stemming from her mother’s actions. To the purse designer’s surprise, Dr. Montgomery suggested inviting her mother to the wedding, expressing hope that she was capable of change. Dani Dupree later joined the engaged couple to discuss wedding dress plans.

Dr. Richardson and Bill Hamilton also shared a conversation while at the country club about their unique position as former members of the Dupree family. The two reflected on how much things had changed over the years.

Jacob Hawthorne and several other Fairmont Crest residents shared heartfelt remarks in honor of Baldwin. The memorial concluded with members of the fire department completing the final call for Baldwin, celebrating his service and heroism.

Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) and Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) prepared to spend some quality time together. While the two shared a passionate kiss, Kat Richardson walked in and was mortified by the sight of her grandparents about to make love.

After their granddaughter left, Vernon Dupree set the mood with soft music and danced with his wife. As the married couple continued enjoying each other’s company, Martin Richardson soon arrived and was just as horrified as his sister by what he witnessed.

Kat Richardson later met with her best friend at Uptown and filled her in on the awkward encounter. The congressman eventually joined them, admitting that he needed a drink to erase the image from his mind. The trio continued to converse about their Grans.

The conversation shifted to Martin Richardson’s recent talk with Tyrell Richardson-Smith, and he shared that he was happy that his son was with a good person. Kat Richardson suggested inviting Smith to join them, but her brother explained that his husband was busy wrapping up the biggest story of his career.

The congressman also revealed that Smith was the person who initially tipped off Jacob Hawthorne about the plasma ring operation. The trio reflected on Baldwin’s sacrifice and the impact of his death.

Leslie Thomas joined Lawson for an unwelcome conversation at the country club. The paralegal attempted to dismiss her, but Leslie Thomas made it clear that she saw through her and they shared similarities.

Bill Hamilton soon arrived during their discussion and urged the free clinic investor to leave him and his wife alone. The criminal defense attorney then confided that he had begun experiencing tremors again.

Lawson suggested taking him to Garland Memorial Hospital to have his symptoms evaluated. She later encouraged him to let her take care of him instead.

Jacob Hawthorne returned home to his wife after a long day. When the cop tried to focus on the work still to be done, Hamilton-Hawthorne pulled him close and reminded him that it could wait.

Praising his wife for the support she had shown throughout the assignment, Jacob Hawthorne admitted that she kept him going. Hamilton-Hawthorne acknowledged that she had made mistakes during his undercover operation.

As they talked more, Jacob Hawthorne began to process his emotions surrounding Baldwin’s death. He walked through the events of that fateful night and reflected on how his best friend appeared to know that he was walking toward danger. Hamilton-Hawthorne held her husband as he cried.
