Abe Carver (James Reynolds) and Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews) had brought Lexie Carver (Nikki Crawford) back home from the hospital. The resurrected Carver matriarch reveled in how good it felt to feel the sun hit her face again.

When Lexie Carver proposed doing the dishes after her son had cooked, the Carver men reminded her that she needed to rest and ease back into her life again. Lexie Carver reassured them that they wouldn’t lose her and that she was there to stay.

Theo Carver quickly decided to stop by Sweet Bits Bakery while being questioned about his love life to escape the conversation. Abe and Lexie Carver later shared a kiss, their first since the resurrected Carver matriarch’s return.

Paulina Price-Carver (Jackée Harry) stopped by Chanel Dupree-DiMera’s (Raven Bowens) apartment to visit baby Trey, and she noticed that her daughter looked exhausted. Dupree-DiMera admitted that she hadn’t gotten much sleep and had received bad news.

After hiding what was happening, Dupree-DiMera confided in her mother about her cancer diagnosis, leaving Price-Carver visibly shaken. The mayor promised not to worry and expressed confidence in her daughter’s ability to handle the cancer journey with courage. Price-Carver stated that she will be there for Dupree-DiMera no matter what.

The mother-daughter duo shared a warm embrace after discussing everything further. The Sweet Bits Bakery owner checked on her son after he woke up, and she decided they needed some fresh air.

Later, Theo Carver ran into Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez), who apologized for accusing him of selling her out to Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier). Hernandez acknowledged that she should’ve known that Theo Carver would never do that. The former DiMera Enterprises CEO walked away after he realized that Hernandez didn’t come to the fact on her own.

Theo Carver also saw Dupree-DiMera, and he was sympathetic about what happened between his father and Price-Carver. As Dupree-DiMera stated that she didn’t want things to be weird between them, she noticed Theo Carver holding his chest.

Theo Carver confided in the Sweet Bits Bakery Owner about his childhood and his mother’s return, which left him feeling overwhelmed. Dupree-DiMera told him that she would always be his sister and love him. The duo then hugged each other.

At the DiMera Enterprises office, Police Commissioner Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) came by to question Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) about what Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) had done to him. He recounted the events and realized that Choi knew that he’d be alone and that his wife and child would be out of town. Hunter stated that if he remembered anything else, he knew how to reach her.

Following a deep conversation, Lexie Carver asked Abe Carver directly if he had definitively made the choice to build a life with her, given that Price-Carver stepped aside. The former police commissioner reassured her that he did and that he had missed her every day while she was gone.

Dupree-DiMera and Johnny DiMera ran into Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) at Salem University Hospital. After returning from the restroom, Dupree-DiMera asked her husband if he had told Dr. Evans about the cancer diagnosis, to which he admitted that he had.

The married couple was immediately concerned when Dupree-DiMera’s oncologist waltzed in with an inconsiderate greeting and barely any eye contact. When Dr. George (John Hartmann) stated that Dupree-DiMera was HER2 and hormone positive, the bakery owner responded by saying that she is a businesswoman, a wife, a mother and a person, not a disease.

The doctor apologized, and Dupree-DiMera admitted that she had been on edge. Dr. George stated that he would be more sensitive and shared that the treatment would depend on the stage of Dupree-DiMera’s breast cancer.

Dr. George speedily ran through the plan for Dupree-DiMera’s cancer treatment, claiming that it was straightforward. When the business owner pushed back on the doctor’s claim that breast cancer is rare during pregnancy, expressed the desire to feel comfortable about her plan given the severity of the situation and explained implicit bias and the discrepancies within the mortality rate of Black female cancer patients compared to White patients, Dr. George responded with a callous comment.

Johnny DiMera then stepped in, telling his wife’s oncologist that they were going through a difficult time and that Dupree-DiMera wanted to make sure that she was heard. Dupree-DiMera declared that she is not just another statistic and would not be treated as if she doesn’t matter.

Dr. George remained insensitive, even telling Dupree-DiMera to “Get off the internet and, more importantly, calm down.” He told the bakery owner to call his office to make chemotherapy arrangements and then walked out of the hospital room, leaving the married duo incredibly distressed.

After the troubling encounter, Dupree-DiMera and her husband ran into Dr. Evans and Dr. Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey). The couple relayed the truth about what happened and Dr. George’s lack of consideration. Shaken, Dupree-DiMera announced that she would not undergo chemotherapy and wouldn’t be pressured into doing so by someone who did not care about her and her unborn child.

At the family apartment, Lexie Carver proclaimed that the mango tarts from Sweet Bits Bakery were fantastic. She also thanked her son for the delicious meal that he cooked.

When Theo Carver tried to give his parents some alone time, Lexie Carver assured him they would have plenty of time together and told him to sit back down because they were having family time. The Carver matriarch told Abe and Theo Carver that she had burning questions for them.

Lexie Carver asked her son to tell her about the kidnappings of the DiMera family. Abe Carver admitted it was a horrible time, and Theo Carver stated that, although he was injured, everything turned out okay in the end.

Abe and Theo Carver were shocked when Lexie Carver declared that she was proud of her son for being named the CEO of DiMera Enterprises. The former executive confessed that he had stepped down because he didn’t want his mother to be disappointed in him. Lexie Carver reassured him that she could never be.

At the DiMera mansion, Price-Carver visited EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) to inform him that the state medical board had voted to censure him, which could result in his hospital ownership being revoked. After EJ DiMera dismissed the notion, the mayor stated that the hospital had already considered a replacement, Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien).

Lexie Carver asked Theo Carver to reconsider running the family business, but he told her he couldn’t go back because he had resigned, and Johnny DiMera was now running DiMera Enterprises. The Carver trio got into a slight argument about the DiMera family when Lexie Carver tried to further convince her son to become CEO once again.

To ease the tension, Abe Carver suggested that they have a family game night. Afterward, the trio decided that they were ready for bed, and the former police commissioner offered to give his resurrected wife the master bedroom, which she declined because she didn’t feel comfortable.

Abe Carver reaffirmed that they would take everything one day at a time and then he went to his room. Lexie Carver soon spotted a picture of Abe Carver and Price-Carver together, which seemed to bother her.

Theo Carver met with his uncle, who asked how Lexie Carver was doing. When EJ DiMera asked his nephew if he was happy that Price-Carver had stepped aside for his mother, Theo Carver confessed that he didn’t know how to feel.

When Theo Carver said his mother wanted him to reconsider coming back to DiMera Enterprises, the lawyer agreed, stating that Johnny DiMera and the family business needed Theo Carver’s help.

While explaining that Johnny DiMera needed to step away from the company, EJ DiMera let it slip that Dupree-DiMera got diagnosed with breast cancer. The lawyer then asked Theo Carver if he’d be willing to be Johnny DiMera’s second in command, and he accepted.

Abe and Lexie Carver had breakfast with Dr. Evans, who stated that it was nice to see the Carver matriarch out of the hospital. Evans also acknowledged Lexie Carver’s health reports.

When asked about Dupree-DiMera, Abe Carver admitted that he had not spoken with her or the mayor recently. Lexie Carver went to give her compliments to Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) for the meal, and Dr. Evans affirmed that she would be there for Abe Carver and Price-Carver.

Meanwhile, Dupree-DiMera and her husband shared an emotional conversation. Johnny DiMera tried to convince his wife to reconsider not going through with chemotherapy, but the Sweet Bits Bakery owner suggested doing treatment after their baby was born.

The DiMera Enterprises CEO tried to get his mother-in-law to talk to Dupree-DiMera. The Salem mayor pitched the idea of finding a new doctor to her daughter, one who would be respectful, since Dr. George had been dismissive.

When Johnny DiMera declared how much he loves and needs Dupree-DiMera, Price-Carver agreed, saying that her daughters were also encouraging her to do what it took to keep fighting as she went through her medical crises. The Sweet Bits Bakery owner agreed to get a second opinion.

Abe and Lexie Carver shared a sweet moment at home. When the resurrected Carver matriarch went to the bathroom to freshen up, Theo Carver arrived and shared the news of Dupree-DiMera’s breast cancer diagnosis.

Abe Carver immediately rushed to Price-Carver’s side and embraced her, apologizing for not being in touch. The mayor agreed to tell Dupree-DiMera and Johnny DiMera about Abe Carver’s prayers for them, and the two exchanged goodbyes.

After Theo Carver gave his mother the cover story of where his father was and left to get his phone charger, Lexie Carver began to feel dizzy and was visibly concerned about what was happening. Days of Our Lives is available to stream daily on Peacock.
