The day all the biggest soap opera stars in the genre have been waiting for has finally arrived… the 53rd Annual Daytime Emmys. On Oct. 30, the casts and crews of each current daytime drama came together for a glitzy, glamorous night at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, celebrating the excellence of their peers in acting, writing, directing and more.

CBS’ “Beyond the Gates” made Daytime Emmy history, earning 15 nominations, the most any soap opera has achieved in its first year of eligibility. The groundbreaking, Black-led drama series’ actresses, Tamara Tunie and Karla Mosley, also penned their names in the history books, becoming the first two Black women to receive nominations in the lead actress category in the same year. Mosley and Tunie are long-time soap veterans who are finally getting their overdue recognition.

Jasmine Burke, Arielle Prepetit, Ambyr Michelle, Trisha Mann-Grant and Timon Kyle Durrett also secured Daytime Emmy nominations for their layered “Beyond the Gates” roles. Prepetit and Michelle’s nominations are in the Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series category, which was created in 2025.

“The Bold and the Beautiful” actor and writer Lawrence Saint-Victor also earned his first Daytime Emmy nomination for Supporting Performer in a Daytime Drama Series. Saint-Victor has been on the 40-year-old CBS series for a decade now, portraying Forrester Creations COO Carter Walton.

CBS soap opera “The Young and the Restless” earned the most nominations out of the five current shows, with 18. Sean Dominic received a supporting actor nomination for his role as Nate Hastings. Dominic has been on the daytime drama since 2019.
