Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) arrived at Society and found Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) at the end of a work meeting. He greeted her, but Charles was clearly eager to leave. Novak asked her why she was avoiding him. She admitted that, despite having previously agreed to help, she had changed her mind about his plan.
This news upset Novak, but he was confident that the two of them could keep Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) apart for good.
The two argued about the effectiveness of splitting the former couple up forever, but Charles set her sights on business matters – not romantic ones. Novak called her on her longstanding desire for Abbott and did his best to convince Charles that they have immense chemistry.
Novak believed his scheme was a worthy cause, but Charles did not. During this conversation, Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) arrived. Charles noticed and gave him a lingering gaze…which Novak caught.
He called out the Spectra-Charles Media Co-CEO, questioning whether Noah Newman was the reason she refused to pursue Abbott.
Charles took offense to the accusation and told Novak that he was overstepping into her personal life, but he continued to discuss her romantic prospects. Charles got real with him, saying that she and Noah Newman had a painful and complicated history that was none of his business.
Guilt seemingly gnawed at Novak as Charles attempted to leave. He offered to sit down and talk about it with her, but she declined. Novak later left the restaurant.

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) received a phone call from a mysterious person. He stated that he was glad they were back and that things weren’t finished.
Later, the caller visited Victor Newman at his family’s ranch, and it was none other than Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). She had returned to town after her kidnapping ruse with Victor Newman.
Winters revealed that the two had formed an alliance to get Newman Enterprises and Chancellor back from Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn).

Winters and Victor Newman began to discuss their plan. Winters admitted she had reservations, but went along with it for her family’s sake. Victor Newman did not have good news to give her.
The Newman patriarch let Winters know that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) had gotten involved when Ashby was on the precipice of returning the companies to him. As such, their ploy became more complicated.
Winters quickly realized that it meant she had come back to town for nothing, but Victor Newman promised that Chancellor would be given to her after he regained control of Newman Enterprises. This news upset Winters, and she accused Victor Newman of using her once again.
Winters said she had no choice but to trust him, since she had put her family through immense distress and needed it to be “Worth it.” Victor Newman told her that in the end, it would be, but Winters wasn’t so sure.
She asked whether his wife, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), was on board, but Victor Newman abruptly shut down the inquiry. Victor Newman promised that he would keep his word and that Chancellor would be hers in a few weeks. He stated that her family’s company would turn into an empire.
Winters said that she hoped he would keep his end of the bargain and then headed straight to Ashby’s train car. She arrived to hear him on the phone, making plans to revive Arabesque from devastation, and realized he wanted to rebuild it.
Winters told her ex-husband that she wanted him to know she was okay and that she had seen the video he sent. Ashby questioned her – asking if she was truly sorry – and Winters feigned confusion until Ashby called her on it.
Stunned that Ashby had found out what she had done, Winters fell silent as he ripped into her, asking if his distress pleased her. Winters apologized but asserted that he wasn’t the victim, given the many lies he told his family.
Ashby refuted this, saying that all he wanted in life was her and their children’s happiness. While she tried to explain, Ashby wasn’t having it.
He stated that her actions went beyond cruelty and had destroyed him emotionally. As a result, he said he was out of her life for good and never wanted to see her again. Ashby walked away, leaving Winters distressed.
