Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) arrived at Chancellor Park Cafe and overheard Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) discussing Chancellor Industries. Wary, Winters flashed back to her agreement with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Winters approached the grandmother-granddaughter duo and asked them, in a subtle way, about the company’s future.
After a brief greeting, Nikki Newman apologized for discussing business so openly, acknowledging that Chancellor Industries may still be a sore spot for Winters. The two danced around the topic until Nikki Newman admitted that it’s unlikely she’ll be the CEO of Chancellor Industries once again.
The revelation surprised Winters, and she asked why. The Newman matriarch hedged with a vague answer, and Winters took the hint and wished Nikki Newman well before attempting to leave.
Nikki Newman, however, wasn’t done with the conversation. She pointedly asked about Winters’ arrangement with her husband, catching the Hamilton-Winters executive off guard.
After some hesitation, Winters evaded the full truth, claiming that she simply wanted to teach Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) a lesson. She made a quick exit, but it was clear that Nikki Newman did not believe her.

At Crimson Lights, Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) ran into Claire Newman and invited her to sit with him. He was in high spirits and noticeably optimistic. Novak soon shared the news that Ashby was a match for his biological father. Relieved for his family, Novak explained that Ashby was expected to fly to New York.
Claire Newman was thrilled for him and excitedly shared that she’s never been to New York. Novak teasingly stated that he’s “On to her,” implying that she wanted to be invited to join him. She quickly denied it and the two shared a laugh, joking about being perfect travel companions.
As the conversation continued, Novak playfully floated the idea again, officially inviting Claire Newman to join him. She responded by saying that it would feel strange to do so in the middle of a family situation.
Novak attempted to comfort her, saying that her inability to truly trust him is his fault. As they continued circling the topic of New York, Claire Newman insisted that Novak wouldn’t want her to mingle with his mother while in this tense situation, and Novak admitted that his mother already liked her.
The charming businessman also confessed that he’s grateful for the opportunity to get to know his biological father better and for having Claire Newman to talk to. As two people who discovered long-lost family connections, they agree that there’s a unique understanding between them.
The former Chancellor Industries assistant teasingly asked, “Isn’t it just so lucky that you met me?” Novak grinned before replying earnestly, “Damn lucky.”
Ultimately, Novak stated that he didn’t want to pressure Claire Newman into joining, but he did miss spending time with her. He quickly softened the confession with humor, joking that he was simply the perfect host.
Their banter shifted to memories of traveling together, particularly Novak’s habit of stealing food from her plate and his complete inability to read a map. Sarcastically, Novak said that she probably shouldn’t go because she’d be miserable traveling with him. Claire Newman humorously agreed that it sounded absolutely terrible, but their matching smiles made it clear that it would be anything but.
Meanwhile, Winters sat at the Genoa City Athletic Club, reflecting on the previous evening she had spent with Ashby. A simple kiss on the cheek had stirred feelings she clearly wasn’t expecting.
Those emotions intensified when Ashby arrived at her table carrying a specially made coffee—the same recipe their friend once made for their children. The former couple slipped easily into teasing, reminiscing about the early days of their marriage and parenthood.
Ashby eventually asked how she had been holding up and whether she had heard any updates about her biological father. Winters revealed that treatment had officially begun and that she’s relieved that things were progressing smoothly. Their moment was abruptly interrupted when Christine Blair-Romalotti (Lauralee Bell) arrived and arrested Ashby for corporate sabotage.
Winters and Ashby were blindsided by the arrest, with Ashby insisting that he hadn’t done anything since she had become the district attorney. Blair-Romalotti outlined the allegations of his conspiracy with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), including the theft of documents and fraud.
Blair-Romalotti said that he could discuss everything with his attorney, and Ashby then switched tactics, pleading with Winters to understand that none of the accusations were true. Winters made it clear that she didn’t care about the circumstances surrounding the arrest and told the newly appointed district attorney that it could not happen.
The former Arabesque Ventures CEO agreed, insistent that he needed to get to New York. Blair-Romalotti quickly shut down the idea, arguing that he could be a flight risk. Ashby vehemently denied this and promised to sign whatever he needed to secure his release.
Winters’ cousin, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), arrived moments later and was stunned by the scene. He questioned Winters, who quickly explained the situation, including the possibility that Ashby may not be able to make it to New York in time.
Later on, Hastings argued that Ashby only agreed to be the donor because of his lingering feelings for Winters and his desire to prove he’s still the man she once loved. Winters dismissed the accusation, maintaining that Ashby’s motivations were sincere.
Overall, Winters declared that the only thing that mattered was saving her biological father. When Blair-Romalotti returned, she warned Winters and Hastings that she had limited time.
Winters immediately clarified that she did not call to discuss the case. Instead, she asked how serious the charges were and whether they would affect Ashby’s ability to travel. The district attorney explained that she would never file charges without evidence and admitted that she feels confident in the case against him.
Winters finally admitted that they wanted Blair-Romalotti’s help with pleading for a medical emergency. Winters revealed everything that had been going on, which immediately softened Blair-Romalotti’s stance. She learned that Ashby was a donor match. Though she stated that the final decision regarding his travel would ultimately rest with the judge, she agreed to help.

Emotionally overwhelmed, Winters turned to Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) for comfort. She went to the Abbott mansion and recapped what had happened since the two last met. Abbott realized that non-relatives could be tested and immediately offered to go, but Winters informed her that they had found a match: Ashby.
Winters went on to reveal that she recently had dinner with Ashby, Novak and Novak’s mother, Dr. Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox). She fondly reflected on Ashby’s happiness that evening, touched by how joyful he seemed over his children.
Abbott then questioned why her friend had arrived so upset if things were finally improving. Winters let Abbott know that Ashby had been arrested and explained the corporate sabotage charges against him, along with Ashby’s insistence that the accusations were false.
Abbott was shocked, though not entirely surprised, Victor Newman was somehow involved. She insisted that there had to be a way to sort things out, but Winters feared that Ashby’s arrest may have been a sign that everything was about to fall apart. Abbott refused to indulge that fear and immediately slipped into problem-solving mode. She started listing people that Winters could contact for help.
Winters confessed that contacting Novak still felt a little strange. Curious, Abbott asked whether the dinner had given Winters any new perspectives on her brother. The former Chancellor-Communications executive hesitated before acknowledging that there’s more depth to him than she originally expected.
Abbott reassured her friend that her concerns were valid but encouraged her to consider Novak from another side. She asked Winters to imagine how different his life might have been had he grown up surrounded by the Winters family.
Winters wondered if Abbott was suggesting she give Novak the benefit of the doubt. Abbott insisted that this was the perfect time to do so, especially with the family uniting. Abbott described the newly discovered connection as “the kind of bond that changes lives.”
