Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) arrived at the Genoa City Athletic Club to meet her brother, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), and cousin, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), for dinner. Fresh off a flight from New York City, Lily Winters was in great spirits, and her family matched her happiness.

The former Chancellor Communications Co-CEO said that she was grateful to be with Hamilton and Hastings, and that the two bringing her favorite wine was the perfect way to be welcomed home.

Hastings inferred from the upbeat mood that Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) was doing well following his procedure. Lily Winters confirmed this and happily shared that he was recovering nicely.

The trio raised a toast to the renowned photographer, but then Lily Winters received a phone call from Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). He welcomed her home, and she was visibly pleased to hear from him, smiling broadly.

Hastings wasn’t impressed, and Hamilton was annoyed, especially when Lily Winters agreed to stop by to see Ashby after dinner with her family. Unbeknownst to her, Ashby had arranged a romantic dinner.

When Lily Winters noticed her family’s displeasure, an argument ensued. Hastings stated that they were only being protective, but Hamilton insisted that nothing had changed despite Ashby saving Malcolm Winters’ life.

Lashing out, the Winters Inc. executive declared that she was sorry that her brother was so angry with the world that he chose to take it out on her. She told him that he needed to learn to let go of his anger, then walked out of the club.

Upon arriving at Ashby’s traincar, Lily Winters found the room filled with candles, roses and champagne, all prepared for dinner. The woman Ashby loves praised the effort he put into the night, thanking him again and remarking that his father would be proud of him.

The duo toasted to Malcolm Winters living a long and happy life. Lily Winters asked if there had been any updates regarding the former Arabesque Ventures CEO’s arrest, but he appeared unconcerned by the situation.

The media mogul apologized again for her role in the faux kidnapping plot, but her apology prompted Ashby to confess that he didn’t believe she had only participated to teach him a lesson. He asked what kind of deal his ex-wife made with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) in exchange for helping carry out the scheme.

After slight hesitation, Lily Winters finally admitted that Victor Newman had promised her Chancellor Industries, the company she believed rightfully belonged to her brother. Ashby asked why the Winters Inc. executive still didn’t have control of it, prompting her to explain the Newman patriarch’s excuses for not handing it over.

After dinner, Lily Winters complimented the father of her children, telling him that the evening was perfect. Ashby thanked her for spending time with him and beginning the process of forgiving him.

Ashby told Lily Winters that he’d see her soon, and she coyly replied, “Probably,” before the pair shared a romantic, lingering kiss. They said goodnight and parted ways, both smiling and blushing after the moment.

Back at the Genoa City Athletic Club, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), Hamilton’s wife, arrived, and Hastings quickly realized that his cousin was struggling in his marriage. The former doctor politely excused himself, reminding the married couple that there was no time like the present to fix things.

Once Hastings left, Abby Newman asked what she had missed, and her husband icily informed her of Ashby and Lily Winters’ growing closeness. After Abby Newman urged the father of her child to cut Ashby some slack, Hamilton remained unimpressed, asking if the former Arabesque Ventures CEO’s one good deed was supposed to erase all the pain he previously caused.

Hamilton’s wife sensed that something deeper was at play and asked whether the conversation was really about Ashby or Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes). Hamilton hesitated before apologizing, assuring Abby Newman that he wasn’t angry with her.

The music producer admitted that he didn’t realize how much his pain was affecting his family and acknowledged that every attempt his wife made to help him was met with dismissiveness. Their discussion forced Hamilton to admit a painful truth he had been avoiding, which was that he blamed himself for their son’s kidnapping and was struggling to forgive himself for it.

Despite his wife’s reassurances, Hamilton couldn’t shake the overwhelming sense of guilt. He apologized to Abby Newman, saying that he had broken every promise he made to his family. She refused to blame him, reminding him that, during their darkest moments, he had given her hope and strength.

Elsewhere, Hastings ended up at Crimson Lights, where he ran into Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). The Newman matriarch excused herself while the exes greeted each other politely.

Victoria Newman offered well wishes for Malcolm Winters and the rest of Hastings’ family. She also took the opportunity to ask Hastings for advice regarding opioid addiction.

The former doctor cautioned his ex that an addict needed support from every angle and shouldn’t be met with judgment. Victoria Newman thanked him, telling him that his kindness and empathy reminded her of what a good doctor he once was.

Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) and his mother, Dr. Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox), shared a meal together at the hospital cafeteria in New York City. Simmons mentioned Malcolm Winters, pleased that he appeared to be recovering and in good spirits.

Admitting that he enjoyed talking with his biological father, Novak stated that it was nice to learn more about the Winters’ family history and dynamic. He also declared that everything was finally beginning to feel normal, even noting that he and his newly revealed biological sister were getting along well despite their messy beginnings.

Dr. Simmons then shifted the conversation, asking when they were finally going to talk about Claire Newman (Hayley Erin). Novak avoided diving into his own feelings and instead asked to temporarily table this talk about his romantic life.

The charming businessman’s mother agreed before asking how Claire Newman felt about him. He admitted that while they were “A little more than friends,” there were no expectations between them.

Dr. Simmons challenged that assessment, pointing to the personalized jacket Claire Newman bought for her son and arguing that it didn’t exactly scream casual. Novak asked his mom whether she approved or disapproved, but she hedged, saying that she didn’t know the young woman very well.

Novak laughed at the comment, joking that a lack of familiarity had never stopped the doctor from forming opinions before. Eventually, Simmons relented, calling Claire Newman charming.

After further discussion, Dr. Simmons confessed that she believed Novak’s relationship with Claire Newman was different from the others. She pointed out that Novak’s reluctance to fully discuss his feelings may mean that Claire Newman mattered far more to him than he was willing to admit. Novak quietly confided that he wanted to be the right man for Claire Newman and hoped whatever was growing between them could last.

Later, Novak returned to the hotel suite, intending to follow through on his promise to take the former Chancellor Industries assistant to dinner. Instead, Claire Newman asked if they could order room service and stay in.

Novak shared that his biological father loved the jacket Claire Newman bought and that his mother was still reserving judgment. He also admitted that, while his mother liked the growing romantic bond, she was wary given his history of breaking hearts.

Curious, Claire Newman asked exactly how many hearts he had broken. She stated that she wanted to know about all the important women in his life. Novak acknowledged there really hadn’t been any, explaining that most of his past relationships were basically flings.

When Novak asked about Claire Newman’s romantic history, she said he already knew it all, that she had been only serious with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Novak asked whether things were truly over between the broken-up pair.

Although she loves his son and cares deeply for his family, Claire Newman declared that she is no longer in love with Abbott. Carefully, Novak asked what that meant for the two of them. Could they actually have a future together?

Claire Newman replied that only time would tell, though currently, things looked pretty promising. The two shared a kiss before falling into bed together once again.
