Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) played cards with Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup), Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) and Giovanni Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza). She noticed that her friends were trying to distract her from her father’s upcoming assault trial, and contemplated whether she would attend or not.
After realizing they’d forgotten their record label meeting with Brook Lynn Quartermaine-Chase (Amanda Setton) and Simon (Grady Eldridge), Trina Robinson and Palmieri rushed off to the Surf Lodge with Taylor tagging along as well.
The A&R music executive was excited to see his new signees but took issue when he learned that Trina Robinson was in a committed relationship with Taylor. This threw a wrench in the label’s marketing strategy to showcase the art historian and her guitarist as a couple.
Trina Robinson and Palmieri were adamant about not faking a romance, and Quartermaine-Chase promised to advocate on their behalf so they wouldn’t have to use the 90-day out clause in their contracts. In a dark room, the songstress’ unidentified stalker edited a recent photograph of her and Taylor at the Metro Court pool and erased the political intern from it.

Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) anxiously met with Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) ahead of his trial. The attorney revealed that an interested party had come forward, willing to help with their case. In walked former congressman Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).
The Aurora Media CEO was immediately suspicious, but his ex-best friend insisted that he was truly sorry for his past behavior. Drew Cain had been asked to testify for the prosecution’s side but, wanting to make amends, he planned to instead help Curtis Ashford’s case by recanting a witness statement he had previously made.
Curtis Ashford remained skeptical that the former politician would help without expecting something in return, but the media mogul was moved that his former friend didn’t want to see a father separated from his son.
Meanwhile, Trina Robinson joined Ava Jerome (Maura West) for a celebratory breakfast following her graduation from Port Charles University. Jerome gifted her assistant a plan for full partnership at the Jerome Gallery, but Trina Robinson couldn’t accept.
The art historian explained that music was her new dream, and Jerome was thrilled that she got signed to a successful label. Trina Robinson planned to work at the Jerome Gallery part-time, which her mentor was relieved to hear.
Later, the singer overheard Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) venting to Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna) about Congresswoman Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) wanting Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) to reopen the investigation for Drew Cain’s shooting. Reeves admitted that her daughter was planning to have Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) framed for the crime.

At the courthouse, Dr. Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) provided encouraging words to Dr. Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) just as Curtis and Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) arrived. The men shared tense words after the injured transplant surgeon told his rival that accepting the plea deal would be his best option. Dr. Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) broke up their budding argument.
Inside the courtroom, Assistant District Attorney Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) warned Gannon to keep his cool and not to help his opponent’s defense. At the same time, Jordan Ashford urged Dr. Robinson to “tell the truth” on the stand about the blame being on both sides.
The former General Hospital chief of staff refused to place any responsibility on her boyfriend for her ex-husband’s actions. Curtis Ashford intervened and told the two women not to bicker just as the trial began.
Everyone listened in as Lansing-Davis and Grey provided their opening statements to the jury. The prosecution deemed talk of the infamous car accident as irrelevant to the illegality of assault, whereas the defense insisted that Gannon had set off a chain reaction by allegedly leaving the Ashfords on the side of the road to die.
Later on, Dr. Robinson took the stand after the jury heard witness testimony from Dr. Jones and Detective Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett). She explained how the Aurora Media CEO goaded Dr. Gannon even when they tried to leave, lost control of his temper and threw the first and only punch.
Portia Robinson also detailed how Dr. Gannon’s subsequent inability to perform surgery had already affected patients needing specialized life-saving procedures, including Derek, the young boy who was a huge fan of Kai Taylor and needed an auxiliary liver transplant. While cross-examining the General Hospital doctor, Grey confronted her with a question about how her relationship with Gannon had started.

Though the judge allowed Grey’s question, Dr. Robinson herself objected because she felt that her personal life had no relevance in the trial. When forced to answer, the former General Hospital chief of staff stated that she fell in love with Gannon after she and Curtis Ashford were estranged.
When questioned by Lansing-Davis, Dr. Robinson clarified that her ex-husband had also moved into a new relationship with Jordan Ashford. She recounted how Curtis Ashford punched Dr. Gannon despite not being physically or verbally threatened.
After Drew Cain kept his word about testifying on the Aurora Media CEO’s behalf, Dr. Gannon took his place on the hot seat. The prosecution let him recount his injury and its impact on himself and his patients.
In cross-examination, Grey returned focus to the car accident fallout for which his client blamed the transplant surgeon and again tried to stir speculation that Gannon had provoked his adversary into hitting him. Gannon declared that he simply made a statement he believed to be true: he could be a better father figure than Curtis Ashford.
Upon Jordan Ashford taking the stand, she fed into the narrative that her ex-boyfriend had passed by her car accident without helping, leading to her near-death and scarring. She also speculated that Dr. Gannon had visited her in the hospital because of guilt.
Lansing-Davis got the former deputy mayor to admit that Gannon’s hospital visit could have also stemmed from a place of concern and used Jordan Ashford’s past in law enforcement to point out that no credible evidence existed to charge Gannon with wrongdoing.
Later, Curtis Ashford took the stand. He maintained his defense that his rival was a callous bystander in his car wreck and claimed that Gannon was trying to push him out of his family.
The former private investigator framed his actions as a father fighting for his son. During his cross-examination, Curtis Ashford confessed that he had not been physically threatened before assaulting the General Hospital surgeon. The attorneys later made their closing statements, and everyone in court prepared to wait for the verdict.

At Dr. Robinson’s home, Stella Henry (Vernée Watson) cradled her great-nephew and spoke her well wishes for his parents over him. Meanwhile, after the trial concluded, Dr. Robinson and Dr. Gannon asked Lansing-Davis for her opinion on the effectiveness of their case. The assistant district attorney warned the couple that juries don’t always stick to the facts.
Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) arrived at the courthouse and asked his son how things had gone. Curtis Ashford was optimistic that he had made a good defense.
When Portia Robinson and Dr. Gannon tried to leave, the media mogul stopped them with a pointed and petty remark that he was going to the house to see Desmond Robinson-Ashford, his son. He insisted that the surgeon not be present, and Marshall Ashford then stepped in with grace and understanding.
The musician urged his adult son to focus on Robinson-Ashford. Curtis Ashford agreed and looked forward to visiting his child, even inviting Jordan Ashford to join. However, she declined to go, reminding her boyfriend of the boundaries he and his ex-wife had set.
Portia Robinson came home and thanked Henry for watching the baby. When asked about her well-being, the former General Hospital chief of staff admitted that she didn’t see an end to the drama as long as her ex-husband wouldn’t compromise.
Curtis and Marshall Ashford arrived next. Once alone with his baby boy, the Aurora Media CEO recapped the trial and promised to never miss a single milestone. Later, he apologized to Dr. Robinson for any pain she’d experienced on the stand.
However, in a private conversation with his great-aunt, Curtis Ashford announced that, when he’s acquitted, he will enforce changes that include Dr. Gannon not being allowed anywhere near Robinson-Ashford.
When Lansing-Davis ran into Jordan Ashford at the Metro Court pool, the assistant district attorney apologized for going hard on Curtis Ashford during the trial. The former police commissioner understood and appreciated that the attorney had gone easy on her while she was on the witness stand.
Jordan Ashford then welcomed Devane home. The duo commiserated over their recent life challenges and updates.
At the hospital, Dr. Gannon talked with Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Dr. Jones. He vented about his presumed failure to be a calm witness, his regret over Dr. Robinson facing public scrutiny and his frustration over his assaulter’s ongoing accusations. The surgeon hoped that Curtis Ashford would be found guilty and feared the entire situation would worsen if he weren’t.
Viewers can watch “General Hospital” Monday through Friday, airing on ABC at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. EST.
