As Abe Carver (James Reynolds) and Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews) reached Lexie Carver’s (Nikki Crawford) room, the former police commissioner became frantic, wondering if he and his son were too late to save the Carver matriarch. Dr. Kayla Brady-Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) checked on Lexie Carver, and they began to talk about her symptoms and what had been going on.

Afterward, Dr. Brady-Johnson arrived to see Chanel Dupree-DiMera (Raven Bowens) and monitor her while she was in labor. Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman), Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) and Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) all came together to support Dupree-DiMera.

When Price mentioned that her youngest daughter was due for induction in three weeks, Price-Grant stated that it was common for women to go into labor a month early. The mayor and Dupree-DiMera reminded Price-Grant that the due date was set because it was long enough after the Sweet Bits Bakery owner’s first round of chemotherapy.

Price was very concerned about how early everything was happening, and she pressed Dr. Brady-Johnson with questions. Later, in the Salem University Hospital lobby, Price and Price-Grant ran into Abe and Theo Carver. The mother-daughter duo learned that Lexie Carver was also in the hospital and that she never actually went to South Africa.

Dupree-DiMera discussed her fears with Johnny DiMera about having another child and the struggles of being a new parent again. The former filmmaker was able to calm his wife for a minute, and then her contractions started up again.

Meanwhile, Dr. Brady-Johnson told Abe and Theo Carver that they could visit Lexie Carver. Price and Price-Grant were able to get some information about Lexie Carver’s condition from Brady-Johnson.

The Salem mayor and Price-Grant came back into Dupree-DiMera’s room as she and Johnny DiMera shared some laughs and enjoyed talking about baby names. Brady-Johnson later informed the Sweet Bits Bakery owner that her blood count was a little low, so they would have to do a transfusion before the delivery, instead of an epidural.

On the other side of the hospital, as Abe Carver and Theo Carver visited Lexie Carver, Dr. Brady-Johnson announced that Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (Richard Wharton) drugs were wearing off. The Salem University Hospital chief of staff offered to administer a protocol to extend Lexie Carver’s life a little while longer.

Theo Carver soon became antsy and hoped that his mother would take Dr. Brady-Johnson’s treatment. When the resurrected Carver matriarch agreed, everyone was relieved.

Johnny DiMera ran into his cousin while he was donating blood. Theo Carver asked how Dupree-DiMera was doing and how the delivery was going. Johnny DiMera explained that he was going to donate the blood to his wife.

When Johnny DiMera presumptuously thanked Theo Carver for also donating, the former DiMera Enterprises CEO said he was actually donating to his mother. The former filmmaker then asked about Lexie Carver’s condition.

Honestly, Theo Carver was furious that EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) had kept his mom at the DiMera mansion and was using her as a guinea pig for Dr. Rolf’s miracle drug. As he got angrier, Johnny DiMera told him things weren’t as black and white as they seemed and confessed to knowing where Lexie Carver was before.

Theo Carver went off on his cousin for keeping the information hidden and lying to his face. As soon as his lab was done, the former DiMera Enterprises CEO stormed out after asking Johnny DiMera what Dupree-DiMera would think about all of this.

Price came into the observation room, where she was also getting ready to donate blood, sensed something on her son-in-law’s mind and asked about it. Johnny DiMera admitted that he already knew Lexie Carver was not in Johannesburg.

The mayor became angry and asked what Johnny DiMera was thinking by keeping such a big secret from the family. Price said that her daughter’s biggest fear when marrying Johnny DiMera was that he would be more loyal to being a DiMera than to her.

Price made her son-in-law promise that Dupree-DiMera would have nothing to worry about. He agreed, then went into the lobby area and ran into his cousin once again.

Johnny DiMera pleaded with Theo Carver to talk everything out and said he wanted to make things right. However, Theo Carver said there was nothing that could be done to fix their current issues.

Dr. Brady-Johnson stopped by Dupree-DiMera’s hospital room to drop off more blood for the transfusion. The bakery owner then became concerned about how the procedure would affect her baby.

Chad DiMera (Conner Floyd) gave Theo Carver a supportive hug at the hospital, considering everything that was going on. The former DiMera Enterprises CEO told his uncle about Lexie Carver’s situation, and Chad DiMera affirmed that he had no clue about any of it.

Theo Carver asked Chad DiMera, who offered his support, if he would donate blood for Lexie Carver, and he agreed. Johnny DiMera then awkwardly came upon his cousin, and they started talking about why the Carver matriarch’s whereabouts were kept hidden.

Later on, Theo Carver arrived at Dupree-DiMera’s room for a visit. The expectant mother asked about Lexie Carver’s health. Theo Carver initially hesitated to share, but Dupree-DiMera convinced him to open up.

Johnny DiMera then came back to his wife’s room, and things became tense. Dupree-DiMera noticed the awkwardness and asked what was going on.

She pressed her husband for answers, and Theo Carver covered, saying it was about business. Right then, Dupree-DiMera declared that her water had broken. Johnny DiMera checked under the blanket and saw blood.

Price and Price-Grant came into Dupree-DiMera’s room as she panicked about the blood loss she was experiencing. Dr. Brady-Johnson quickly arrived and said that Johnny DiMera could stay, but everyone else had to leave.

As Price and Price-Grant went out into the lobby, the mayor tried to comfort her eldest daughter as she recalled memories of her own experiences with childbirth. Abe Carver then appeared, running into his ex-wife and comforting her as she worried about Dupree-DiMera and the baby’s health.

Mayor Price asked Abe Carver how Lexie Carver was holding up, and he shared that they were able to buy a little more time to spend with her. As Johnny DiMera approached the two and shared the update about Dupree-DiMera, Price wanted to return to her youngest daughter’s bedside.

The mayor told her ex-husband that everyone was giving Lexie Carver their support, and he responded that he also wished Dupree-DiMera well. Soon after, Dr. Brady-Johnson confirmed that the blood loss came from a minor tear and Johnny DiMera and Dupree-DiMera had nothing to worry about.

Meanwhile, as Lexie Carver’s time got shorter, she tried to enjoy every moment with her loved ones. The Carver matriarch shared the reason why she was at the DiMera mansion and why Johnny and EJ DiMera hadn’t shared her location.

Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) and Price-Grant shared an emotional moment in the Horton Town Square and reflected on the experience they overcame regarding complications during childbirth.  

Abe Carver returned to his son and wife, sharing that Dupree-DiMera hadn’t given birth to her baby yet. Lexie Carver voiced her support and said it warmed her heart that the baby would bring everyone all together after her death.

EJ DiMera ran into Grant and Price-Grant in the hospital lobby and asked why they were there. The married couple told him that Dupree-DiMera was in labor, which he didn’t know.

Later, EJ DiMera reached his sister’s hospital room, and Abe Carver demanded that he leave immediately. Theo Carver stopped his father and told him that staying at the DiMera mansion was Lexie Carver’s idea all along, which she confirmed.

After the attorney asked how Lexie Carver was doing, the Carver matriarch told her brother that he had no reason to apologize for bringing her back to life. She also said she was thankful for the time she got to spend with Theo and Abe Carver.

As Lexie Carver continued to share her gratitude, she began to flatline, and EJ DiMera screamed for help. Dr. Brady-Johnson was able to stabilize the resurrected mother, but confirmed that the blood transfusion had not given the lasting effects they hoped for.

Dupree-DiMera’s contractions grew stronger, and she began to push. As Abe and Theo Carver shared their final moments with Lexie Carver, the Sweet Bits Bakery owner gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.

Johnny DiMera and Dupree-DiMera experienced a tender moment together as the now second-time mother proclaimed how grateful she was to have a healthy baby and her husband by her side. “Days of Our Lives” streams every weekday on Peacock.
