Dr. Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) entered a General Hospital examination room to treat a stunned Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) for what appeared to be a head injury. The pregnant doctor gently asked questions and ordered tests as her colleague had trouble speaking.

When Robinson returned from the hospital lab to deliver good CT scan results, Westbourne was adamant that she needed to speak to Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo). Dr. Robinson sorrowfully revealed that it couldn’t happen because Rios had just been admitted into the hospital as the victim of a stabbing.

Elsewhere in the hospital, Dr. Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) called for a trauma room to be prepped as Rios was brought in unconscious and in critical condition.

Dr. Gannon operated with an assist from Head Nurse Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst), declaring, “This isn’t over, not even close” as they worked to repair the damage. After the first successful stage of surgery, Gannon commended their teamwork.

Dr. Robinson tried to calm an increasingly agitated Westbourne, wondering aloud if she needed sedation. The injured doctor made an effort to calm herself as she asked to see Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and get updates on Rios.

Obliging by Westbourne’s wishes, Robinson returned with the intel that Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) son was still in surgery, while WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) was stable after being shot in the back. Robinson surmised that her patient wasn’t happy to hear the latter news.

When Detective Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) arrived in Westbourne’s room on PCPD orders to take her witness statement for Cullum’s shooting, Dr. Robinson insisted on supervising – ready to halt the procedure if she deemed it detrimental to her patient.

Dr. Robinson then helped her colleague find her words. After Westbourne confirmed the “official” story that Morgan had shot Cullum in self-defense, Robinson and West were unsuccessful in convincing the OBGYN to be admitted for her head injury rather than rushing off to see her lover.

Later, Dr. Gannon continued to work on Rios in surgery, noting that whoever stabbed him was particularly brutal. He and the head nurse continued to operate but were ultimately unsuccessful in battling the lawyer’s massive blood loss.

Robinson comforted her doctor boyfriend as he reeled from not being able to save his patient; she assured him that he had done all he could. She hugged Gannon as he struggled to process how young the victim was.

When Sidwell arrived for an update with Ava Jerome (Maura West) by his side, Gannon gently broke the news to his former enemy that Rios had not survived. Sidwell asked the surgeon whether he could intentionally botch the surgery, given their rocky history, but Robinson cut off that line of questioning and defended Gannon.

Sidwell then asked where he could see his deceased son, and Dr. Gannon directed him to the first trauma room.

Viewers can watch “General Hospital” Monday through Friday, airing on ABC at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. EST.
