Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) met Laura Collins (Genie Francis) for a lunch meeting at the Metro Court. The now former SRE Worldwide COO was impressed that the mayor had set up a sting operation with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), taking down the nefarious Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota).

Mayor Collins was equally impressed by her friend’s strength in refusing to isolate herself while waiting for her face to heal. Turning back to the “more exciting topic,” Jordan Ashford was shocked to learn that the entire time she was working for Sidwell as an undercover operative, the mayor was being blackmailed by him.

After a brief interruption by Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove), the two ladies returned to their conversation. The former deputy mayor was sad that she hadn’t been able to help Collins with the blackmail situation or find intel on her former criminal boss, but the mayor thanked her regardless.

Looking on the bright side, Jordan Ashford enjoyed her ample salary and the expansion of her network under Sidwell, but she now looked forward to figuring out what a fresh start would look like. The former police commissioner cautioned her dear friend against dropping her guard, knowing that a man like Sidwell would likely seek revenge rather than disappear entirely.

Dr. Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) reluctantly let Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) into her home. After an awkward discussion about the expectant mother’s interior-decorating changes, the Aurora Media CEO asked his ex-wife to help them overcome their mutual animosity because of its effect on their daughter, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), who was now giving them both the silent treatment.

The former General Hospital chief of staff observed that they were beyond compromise and mending fences, but wanted to try for civility for the sake of their kids. Remembering their last argument at the baby shower, Curtis Ashford wondered if Dr. Robinson had meant it when she said that she gave Trina Robinson a gift by not letting him raise her.

Dr. Robinson regretted reaching the “rock bottom” of anger but couldn’t take back her words. When Curtis Ashford wondered how they’d move forward, the renowned doctor suggested that they support each other’s relationships with the kids, avoid badmouthing each other and their romantic partners around everyone and cease trying to blend the family.

Later on, Trina Robinson arrived for work at the Jerome Gallery. When her boss, Ava Jerome (Maura West), commended her work on her mother’s baby shower, the art history major recapped the drama that ensued after the event.

She detailed the continued animosity between her parents and vented about her frustration over becoming a “handy tool” for the ex-spouses to use against one another, especially after they had supported her through the death of her first love.

The young art historian explained that she was walking away from the unhealthy cycle of trying to fix her parents’ problems, which was something her boyfriend, Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup), had suggested for months. A sympathetic Jerome supported this change away from the dysfunctional “enmeshed family” dynamic but advised her protégé to update her mom and dad about her new boundaries and the reason behind them.

After agreeing to their new co-parenting terms and arranging communication for Portia Robinson’s next ultrasound, the former married couple was surprised to find Trina Robinson at the door. The Port Charles University student was equally surprised to find them together, but refused to accept an explanation. Instead, she was there to announce a change, and she needed them to listen.

Viewers can watch “General Hospital” Monday through Friday, airing on ABC at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. EST.
