Darlene Hawthorne finally made her appearance in Fairmont Crest on Mar. 26, 2026.

Monique Mosee, actress, acting coach, singer and owner of Entertainers Life Bootcamp joined “Beyond the Gates” as Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges) and Izaiah Hawthorne’s (Lami Friebe) mother and Police Chief Elon Hawthorne’s (Malachi Malik) wife. 

“Mama Hawthorne,” as viewers often call her, is dedicated to law enforcement along with her husband, her eldest son (Jacob Hawthorne) and second-born, Luke Hawthorne, who hasn’t been introduced yet. Chief Hawthorne’s wife works as a 911 dispatcher.

It was previously teased in episodic descriptions that Izaiah Hawthorne, the youngest son, would be defending his relationship with Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michelle) to his mother, and he did just that.

Darlene Hawthorne visited her son at Orphey Gene’s on Thursday to discuss rumors that he and Eva Thomas were heading down the aisle, which he denied.

Mosee is already bringing a spark to television screens, as Darlene Hawthorne expressed her uneasiness over her son’s girlfriend being the daughter of attempted murderer Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant). The mother-son duo also discussed Jacob Hawthorne’s ongoing undercover case.

In 2024, Mosee guest-starred in “St. Denis Medical” and hit shows “Love, Victor” and “NCIS: Los Angeles” in 2022 and “American Crime Story” in 2021. She’s had a long and successful career, also jumping into film with the 2023 movie “Safe Word.”

Mosee thanked the CBS soap opera for the opportunity on the day of her debut via Instagram.

Viewers can already tell that Darlene Hawthorne is one to always speak her mind. It will be exciting to see what she may bring and if she possibly shakes up the DMV.
