Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) returned to Genoa City from Los Angeles and ran into Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver). He reassured Charles that Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) had not discovered their LA secret.
Charles was already concerned that Claire Newman had been far too preoccupied with finding dirt on her, and Novak confirmed that his ex was determined. They traded quips about the Newman family, and Novak wasn’t too concerned about Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) losing his company.
Suspicious about his convictions, Charles asked if he knew anything else about their Claire Newman problem. Novak quickly shut her down, but Charles was not convinced. She said “I know people. I know obsession. And I can tell you that Claire (Newman) is not done with us yet.”
Novak told his partner in crime to continue advancing her career at Spectra-Charles Media and stop worrying about Claire Newman. Charles laughed this off, teasing that Novak had actually fallen for Claire Newman.
The businessman revealed that in Los Angeles, he covered for Charles, sacrificing his relationship with Claire Newman in the process. Charles was surprised by this and asked why it happened now. He confessed that Claire Newman got tired of him hiding the truth.
When Novak said that it was a mistake to get involved with Claire Newman and that her search was over, Charles declared that she needed to hear it from her former nemesis herself.

Charles and Novak met for lunch at Society and ran into Claire Newman and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Charles got confirmation that Claire Newman was done looking into her past and she was pleased about it.
The Spectra-Charles Media Co-CEO and Novak discussed Claire Newman and Abbott’s reunion. Novak took it in stride, declaring that Claire Newman had never gotten over Abbott, so he wasn’t surprised to see them together.
He then noticed that Charles wasn’t happy, even after finding out that her secret was safe, so he asked whether or not the problem was Abbott. Charles hedged and refused to confirm, but Novak suggested that they both be honest about their feelings so they could both get what they wanted.

After meeting with her friend and Co-CEO, Sally Spectra II (Courtney Hope), Charles returned to Society to find Novak in the same place she had left him. The two flirted, and he offered to buy her a drink.
Charles refused, stating that it was too early in the day to drink. She asked what he’d been doing all day. He admitted that he got turned down for a job, and she responded by asking him if his “chummy” behavior was because he wanted a job from her.
Novak switched the subject and then offered Charles a deal, asking her to help him end the “Claire-Kyle connection” forever.
The Co-CEO wasn’t too keen on the plan and said they should leave things alone with Claire Newman since they were finally in the clear. Charles told him, “Don’t be obsessive. It’s unattractive.” Novak still attempted to convince Charles that she was the key to driving Claire Newman and Abbott apart.
Charles said the thought of being near Abbott made her skin crawl, so she wasn’t interested in an attempted seduction. She reminisced about when she was actually attracted to Abbott and discussed what had happened with their relationship.
The businessman attempted to use this as motivation, but Charles turned him down once again, claiming to be the only one facing reality. She asked him if his boredom was the reason why he’d become so determined to get between Claire Newman and Abbott.
Novak was single-mindedly determined to use Charles against Abbott and declared that she wasn’t “seeing the vision,” but he finally admitted that this was about his feelings for Claire Newman. He asserted that he wouldn’t give up on her. Charles then agreed to work with him.
“The Young and the Restless” airs on CBS at 12:30 p.m. EST Monday through Friday.
