Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Chanel Dupree-DiMera (Raven Bowens) had a heart-to-heart at Salem University Hospital as Johnny DiMera recovered from Sophia Choi’s (Rachel Boyd) attack. Dupree-DiMera remembered a conversation she had with Dr. Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) last week, when she got the news that there was a malignancy in her test results.

Dupree-DiMera told her husband that the kids needed him and that he had to keep fighting. He had a sinking feeling that something was wrong, but Dupree-DiMera assured him that things would be fine.

Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) paid Johnny DiMera and Dupree-DiMera a visit, and the DiMera Enterprises CEO recounted the night that Choi attacked him. Johnny DiMera began to question why his wife was still at the hospital instead of out with their son, Trey.

The owner of Sweet Bits Bakery admitted that she was at the hospital for a mammogram. Just as Dupree-DiMera was about to tell her husband what happened at the appointment, she was interrupted as Paulina Price-Carver (Jackée Harry) arrived with Trey.

Once Trey and Price-Carver left, Dupree-DiMera told her husband that she hadn’t revealed the news to her mother yet. The baker also confessed to Johnny DiMera that Dr. Horton believed the results could convey cancer and that a rush will be put on the biopsy results.

Detective Hunter received a call that Choi’s backpack and her shoe had been found on a bridge, and that the team would be searching the river to see if she was actually there.

Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) and Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews) discussed the upcoming will reading. Greene asked Theo Carver whether there was anything new in the will that would affect how the DiMera Estate would be divided.

Theo Carver had a flashback to the moments before he saw Lexie Carver (Nikki Crawford). He admitted to Greene that something was coming that would affect the estate, but he could not tell her what it was.

Later on, Theo Carver met with Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and told her that his mother had been making voluntary movements. When she said that was a good thing, he responded that he wasn’t so sure.

The former DiMera Enterprises CEO had doubts about whether his mother would wake up at this point and whether she would be the same person she was before she had seemingly passed. He stated that part of him wished this wasn’t happening at all.

Dupree-DiMera pushed Trey through Horton Town Square in his stroller when she ran into Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins), who was also out for a walk with her baby. They had a tense conversation, and then Dupree-DiMera asked Wesley who the father of her baby was, concerned that it may be Johnny DiMera.

Wesley told the baker that her baby was Alex Kiriakis’ (Robert Scott Wilson) and reminded her that nothing had happened between her and the DiMera Enterprises CEO. Wesley also prodded Dupree-DiMera with questions about Johnny DiMera after what had happened to him. Not in a sharing mood, Dupree-DiMera shut Wesley down, telling her that they aren’t friends and that she needed to stay out of their lives.

Once again, Dupree-DiMera and Trey arrived to see Johnny DiMera in the hospital. The bakery owner filled her husband in on the news about Wesley and admitted that she might have been a bit cold towards her. Dupree-DiMera later got a notification on her phone, saying that her biopsy was scheduled.

Theo Carver was at the DiMera mansion practicing his speech for the will reading. Chad DiMera (Conner Floyd) shared some supportive words with his nephew as he prepared to speak.

Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) asked if he could speak to Theo Carver in private without Chad DiMera and Anna DiMera (Leann Hunley) in the room. Tony DiMera questioned Theo Carver about why he had stepped down from his position at DiMera Enterprises.

Trying to dodge the question, Theo Carver stated that he had already explained everything, but Tony DiMera pushed the point, pressing his nephew to clarify and tell him what EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) had said to him.

Theo Carver declared that he was grateful for his uncle’s encouragement and endowment as the CEO of DiMera Enterprises, but that he didn’t want to put a target on his or his family’s backs.

Later, Abe Carver (James Reynolds) arrived and agreed with his son’s point. The two were able to get a moment alone, and the former police commissioner told Theo Carver that he was only there in Lexie Carver’s honor and to support his son.

Just as the will reading concluded, the family began saluting Stefano DiMera’s memory. The shock of the event came as they all lowered their glasses and then saw Lexie Carver finding her way out of the DiMera tunnels and into the festivities. Everyone was completely stunned.
