At work, Darlene Hawthorne (Monique Mosee) took a frantic call from Caroline Lee (Ellie Wang), who needed help after Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett) collapsed at his law firm. The 911 dispatcher walked Lee through administering CPR while an unsuspecting Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings) waited for her husband so they could leave for St. Barts.

Izaiah Hawthorne (Lami Friebe) confronted Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michelle) about letting her insecurities regarding her surgery scar create distance between them. The academic advisor’s attempts to reassure his girlfriend only upset her further, particularly when he suggested that she speak to a professional.

After Chelsea Hamilton (RhonniRose Mantilla) and Naomi Hamilton-Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit) left to meet Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) for a spa day, Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie) and Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis) asked Kat Richardson (Colby Nixon) to stay behind at the country club so they could tell their granddaughter how proud they were of her.

Soon after learning about a maintenance delay at the spa, Dani Dupree told her daughters about the fashion discussion she had with Heather Armstrong (Ashley Jones) and the run-in she had with Randy Parker (Maurice P. Kerry), who had not outright denied having an affair with Lawson. The supermodel then questioned whether she had become too involved in the situation.

At Garland Memorial Hospital, Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob) and Shanice Johnson (Ernestine Johnson) discovered that their incoming critical patient was Bill Hamilton. Johnson rushed him into surgery while Morgan contacted Hamilton-Hawthorne. Lee also called Lawson to tell her the terrifying news.

Darlene Hawthorne alerted her eldest son about his father-in-law’s condition. Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges) then immediately notified his wife and told her to go to the hospital.

Chelsea Hamilton called her fiancé, Dr. Madison Montgomery (Kenjah McNeil), who was headed to Denmark. Dr. Montgomery was ultimately the most familiar with the criminal defense attorney’s medical case.

Dani Dupree, Hamilton-Hawthorne and Jacob Hawthorne rushed to Garland Memorial Hospital, where Johnson informed them that Bill Hamilton was in surgery. A devastated Lawson soon arrived hysterically demanding to see her husband, and tensions quickly erupted between her and Dani Dupree.

As the supermodel and paralegal continued to go back and forth, Johnson threatened to call security on both of them if they could not control themselves. Johnson then revealed that Bill Hamilton needed a pacemaker.

Izaiah Hawthorne sought advice about Eva Thomas from his mother, who helped him realize that he needed to make things right. When the Banneker University advisor showed back up to his girlfriend’s place, she admitted that she feared the scar could change their relationship, but the couple reached an understanding and shared a passionate kiss.

Anita Dupree, Vernon Dupree, Chelsea Hamilton and Kat Richardson arrived at the hospital just as the confrontation between Dani Dupree and Lawson reached its breaking point. While going off on Lawson, the modeling agency owner accidentally called Bill Hamilton her husband, stunning everyone in the room.

The Dupree matriarch and patriarch quickly pulled Dani Dupree into Dr. Nicole Dupree’s (Daphneé Duplaix) office to cool down. Simultaneously, Lawson requested that Bill Hamilton’s chart be updated to ban his ex-wife from having access to him.

Vernon Dupree pulled Dani Dupree aside for coffee and offered to stay with his granddaughters so she could go home. Concerned about his youngest daughter, the retired senator asked whether she had reached out to Andre Richardson (Sean Freeman) for support, but Dani Dupree gave excuses for why she hadn’t.

Lawson slipped into the hospital stairwell to update Parker on their derailed plans following Bill Hamilton’s collapse. While Parker blamed his cousin for ruining the plan, the paralegal gloated that she could become a widow by the end of the night. Parker’s frustration after the call caught the attention of his boss, Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom).

Unaware of the family emergency, Dr. Dupree spent the day wrapped up with Dr. Kial Rollins (Greg Vaughan) and missed numerous phone calls about Bill Hamilton. Anita Dupree eventually filled her in and expressed growing concern about Dani Dupree’s behavior.

After arriving home to an empty house, Andre Richardson texted Chelsea Hamilton looking for his wife. The ChelseaKat designer told him that her mother needed him, prompting Andre Richardson to rush to the hospital.

Hamilton-Hawthorne expressed concerns to Chelsea Hamilton, Kat Richardson and Jacob Hawthorne that Lawson might blame them for Bill Hamilton’s collapse.

Meanwhile, Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) seemingly approached an isolated Lawson with support as the paralegal complained that her husband’s family resented her for breaking up his past marriage to Dani Dupree. After learning Bill Hamilton had suffered cardiac arrest, Leslie Thomas continued cozying up to Lawson.

Later on, Lawson demanded that Bill Hamilton’s family leave, and she accused his daughters of hating her more than they loved their father, leading to Dani Dupree snapping. Dr. Dupree then arrived at the hospital and attempted to defuse the situation.

Nurse Morgan soon returned with the news that Bill Hamilton was awake and had specifically requested to see his ex-wife. The criminal defense attorney was happy to see Dani Dupree, who affirmed that the two had always shown up for each other in times of crisis.

A scared Andre Richardson walked into Garland Memorial Hospital believing Dani Dupree was hurt, only to discover she was there to visit Bill Hamilton. Chelsea Hamilton apologized for accidentally telling the photographer that her mother was in the hospital rather than at the hospital. However, Andre Richardson was still confused about why his wife was at Bill Hamilton’s bedside instead of Lawson.

Anita and Vernon Dupree returned home and immediately started worrying that their daughter was falling back into her ex-husband’s orbit.

Leslie Thomas encouraged Lawson to put an end to Dani Dupree’s visit, prompting her to storm into her husband’s hospital room and declare that the exes had spent enough time together. Once alone, Bill Hamilton explained that he needed to see Dani Dupree to clear his conscience. Shortly after, Hamilton-Hawthorne and Chelsea Hamilton came in to visit their father.

Dani Dupree and Andre Richardson sat down for breakfast at the country club, where the photographer made several petty remarks about being surprised his wife was not still at Bill Hamilton’s bedside. When Dr. Richardson called, his nephew admitted that he didn’t know if he could handle Dani Dupree playing the “doting wife” to her ex-husband much longer.

Joey Armstrong and Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli) came to the club, and the casino owner left his partner and the supermodel alone to talk. Dani Dupree confessed that she had accidentally referred to Bill Hamilton as her husband at the hospital.

Meanwhile, Kat Richardson snuck into her uncle’s hospital room with the guilty pleasure meal he secretly requested from Orphey Gene’s. Lawson arrived, however, and snatched the bag away, accusing Kat Richardson of trying to send Bill Hamilton to an early grave.

Once his niece had left, Bill Hamilton reprimanded Lawson for disrespecting her and told the paralegal that she could drop the doting-wife act since there was no audience around. Lawson questioned whether everyone’s accusations about her were starting to influence her husband.

Congressman Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon), Bradley “Smitty” Smith (Mike Manning) and Samantha Richardson-Smith (Najah Jackson) tried to lift Tyrell Richardson-Smith’s (Jaden Lucas Miller) spirits by decorating their living room with Banneker University gear. However, the incoming freshman remained focused on reconciling with Jessica Harris (Camryn Jade).

Later, Samantha Richardson-Smith secretly met with Harris at Orphey Gene’s and warned her to stay away from her brother. The Platinum Debutante did not want Tyrell Richardson-Smith getting any false hope.

Hamilton-Hawthorne stopped by her father’s law firm, where Tomas Navarro (Alex Alegria) accused her of marking her territory before Bill Hamilton was even gone. The attorney quickly put Navarro in his place, leading to an apology. Navarro admitted that he knew Bill Hamilton always dreamed of his eldest daughter working at the law firm full time.

When Lee arrived, she received a hug from Hamilton-Hawthorne for saving her father’s life. The attorney gifted Lee spa tickets, and then the conversation shifted to Navarro. The receptionist admitted that she had lost trust in Navarro because of his past egotistical behavior.

Kat Richardson later crossed paths with her father and gave him the meal Lawson had confiscated from Bill Hamilton. Dr. Richardson found the sandwich a little too much for his taste.

Before Andre Richardson arrived, the ChelseaKat manager also revealed to her father that Dani Dupree had been the first person Bill Hamilton requested to see after waking up. Kat Richardson then left to have brunch with her boyfriend.

Joey Armstrong visited Bill Hamilton to make sure he would not have to fulfill his promise to take care of the Hamilton family. The Lakeview Casino owner encouraged his friend to seek a second opinion if Garland Memorial Hospital couldn’t determine what was wrong. Before leaving, Joey Armstrong briefly crossed paths with Lawson and made a pointed comment that he never speculated about rumors.

Lawson arrived at the law firm with a small fruit basket for Lee, which was noticeably placed beside the larger gift basket that Hamilton-Hawthorne had already given the receptionist. As the paralegal put on her worried-wife act, Lee assured her that Bill Hamilton would be okay.

At the hospital, Andre Richardson arrived, and Bill Hamilton pushed him to admit the real reason for his visit. The photographer confessed that he was bothered by Bill Hamilton asking for Dani Dupree, and her running to be by his side.

Andre Richardson warned the criminal defense attorney that once he was out of the hospital, they needed to discuss boundaries regarding Dani Dupree. Morgan rushed in when Bill Hamilton’s heart began to spike.

The nurse soon caught up with her friend before he entered the elevator to question him about his heated interaction with Bill Hamilton. After shutting down the conversation, the photographer received another mysterious text in the elevator: “Soon.”

Parker arrived at Lakeview Casino to update his boss on Heather Armstrong’s whereabouts. Meanwhile, the Impaler met with Dani Dupree and Vanessa McBride at the country club, where she immediately noticed that the supermodel was not her usual chipper self.

Vanessa McBride attributed her friend’s mood to Bill Hamilton being hospitalized. After the Fairmont Crest realtor and Heather Armstrong left, Dani Dupree reflected on both the good times she shared with her current husband and her complicated history with her ex-husband.

Congressman Richardson and Smith were preparing for some time alone when Kat Richardson arrived with a video game for Tyrell Richardson-Smith. Their conversation shifted to Smith’s potential true crime podcast appearance before Martin Richardson’s campaign manager, Shonda (Dawntavia Marrero), arrived and strongly opposed the idea.

The congressman supported Smith doing the podcast after the sacrifices he had made for their family. Kat Richardson later sat down with Shonda to discuss the importance of media literacy.

Dani Dupree arrived at the hospital, where Morgan told her about the confrontation between Andre Richardson and Bill Hamilton. Furious, the supermodel stormed into her ex-husband’s room demanding answers about what he had said to Andre Richardson.

Lawson then showed up and learned from Morgan that Bill Hamilton’s heart rate had elevated. After making a petty comment about the paralegal’s fruit basket, Dani Dupree left the couple alone.

Andre Richardson headed to Uptown for a drink and received another mysterious text instructing him to “turn around.” Grayson Perez (Jordi Vilasuso) offered a listening ear as the photographer struggled with everything on his mind.

When his wife called, Andre Richardson declared that he had never loved anyone as much as he loved her. Unbeknownst to him, someone mysterious continued watching him from afar.

Izaiah Hawthorne and Eva Thomas were in better spirits at Orphey Gene’s when Kat Richardson stopped by their table. The Banneker advisor asked about Bill Hamilton, surprising his girlfriend, who didn’t know he was hospitalized.

After Kat Richardson left, Izaiah Hawthorne checked in with Eva Thomas about her insecurities surrounding her scar. The free clinic manager admitted that she initially struggled during their intimacy but eventually allowed herself to get lost in the moment. The couple thanked each other for the trust and love they shared.

Chelsea Hamilton later joined her cousin and updated her on Bill Hamilton’s health while questioning why bad things continued happening to her father. Kat Richardson told her best friend to pay attention to her instincts.

Nicole Dupree, Vernon Dupree and Anita Dupree gathered at the country club at Dani Dupree’s request. The modeling agency owner said she wanted her family to express their concerns about her behavior toward Bill Hamilton directly to her, instead of talking behind her back.

After everyone aired their worries, Dani Dupree insisted that they had nothing to fear and she blamed her hospital behavior on Lawson being an irritant. Anita Dupree, however, was not ready to let the matter go and reminded her daughter that Bill Hamilton’s marriage, including whether Lawson was cheating, was none of their concern.

Elsewhere, Andre Richardson reviewed the numerous messages from his mysterious stalker before calling someone named Henry and asking him to check on their “mutual headache.” Congressman Richardson and Smith stopped by, and the investigative reporter questioned Andre Richardson about whether he was still worried about his past.

The politician and his husband then briefly joined the Dupree family at the country club. They revealed that Dr. Rollins would be participating in a charity basketball game they were hosting. After the married duo left, Vernon Dupree spotted Andre Richardson nearby. Dani Dupree checked with the front desk but was told he had not been seen.

Deanna McBride (Angela Fairley) approached Noah Rollins (Nick Hagelin) while he played the guitar, and the two made plans for lunch and a date at his upcoming open mic night. Vanessa McBride unexpectedly joined them.

After Noah Rollins returned to work, the mother-daughter duo discussed Deanna McBride’s budding romance with the musician. The Banneker student later met up with Kat Richardson and Chelsea Hamilton at Orphey Gene’s and invited them to Noah Rollins’ open mic night.

Dani Dupree called her husband, and he initially ignored the notification before sending her to voicemail. Meanwhile, Andre Richardson secretly made his way into the hotel room where the identity of his mysterious stalker was finally revealed to be…Heather Armstrong.
